Chaos! Blood for the Blood God! Oh wait, sorry, I got carried away.^^
So, let's see, I have a choice between a total authoritarian oppresionist regime, and an almost outright anarchy. My choice is Law (but, truthfully I'd pick neither^^). Here is why. Although gnaws at my liberal heart; I prefer a sense of stability. As long as the law is just I would have no problem upholding it. But with a such regime comes the question what would fall under the category of just? Well, if just is considered something that affects you in the best possible manner, then it's not just. Just is something that effects everyone equally. I get the fellin' that the dictator has a bit more just treatment than the rest of us common peasants living there. Sice the OP says that life is good under the law, than who am I to argue?
At the beginning of the post I wrote that I'd preffer it because of stability, that little thing that prevents riots on the streets and keeps your pockets filled, but in truth niether of these regimes are stable. The guy you bumped into in the bar could shoot you for it, and the dictator could outlaw sex toys if his wife forbids him to use one in bed. But, all in all, if my pockets are filled by a regular income, my (imagined) family has enough to eat, and everyone is happy, then, yes, I'd be happy there too, even though my freedom is outlawed together with sex toys. Now I don't want people to think that I would sell my soul for a regular income, it's just that we're talking 'bout two extremes here, neither of wich I would prefer to live in, but since I had to make a choice; than here it is. I feel most secure in the dictatorship. But, honestly, when I get there, I'd do something to expand our freedom, the hopless liberal that I am. Dictatorship isn't a bad thing if your dictator is just.
