"lots of meanness,"

Games now have meanness, when did that happen ?
It's from the movies, lots of meanness there. I hear reality can be pretty mean too, maybe we should limit our kids interaction with reality.
People try that, but then the government just calls everyone fat and lazy. There's just no pleasing some people.

so just another misleading title...i mean even the lawyer says the guy had a LOT of mental problems that were exacerbated by the video games.

i would like to know what video games made this guy bomb synagogues, but in the long run this guy is either crazy or anti Semitic

It's nice to mention that they had mental issues, but I think the lawyer's argument probably should've been ignored after he used the word "meanness".

Overall though, their defense made sense.

Well to be fair, if you are a lawyer defending someone who torched three synagogues out of hate for jews...well he doesn't really have much of a choice does he? Other than this his only option would have been to plead insanity but there's no way that anyone will fall for that. at least the "games made me do it" had a small chance of success.

Exactly which game would he have drawn inspiration for this? Paperboy?

To be fair, that game always puts me in a fit of homicidal rage.

Yeah, like video games assumed direct control of his body, implanted anti-Jewish thoughts into his psyche and made him burn those buildings down.

This is doubtlessly a hate crime.
No that's not what he's saying at all, he's saying games exasperated pre-existing mental conditions that the chap is said to have. This is one of the few times where the games may have had an effect by contributing to his psychosis, it's probably not the greatest idea to allow the guy with loose grip on reality to play violent games because where we can tell the difference between fact and fiction he may not have been able to.

It's a bad sign when our knee jerk reaction is defend our hobby without acknowledging the other side has a point.

i blame gaming for bad weather and that itch on my buttocks.
you dont see nobody making news out of this. and rightly so i might add.

what is the difference between my itchy problem and this stupid pile of bs?

oh well, law system has nothing to do with law anyway, its more of "find the loophole" waldo style kind of game.

Call of duty world at war had molotovs but you were using them against Nazi's. The only game I can think of where molotovs were used against jewish people was GTA4 but even then by that time you unlocked grenades anyway. I call bully.

On his bicycle.

really was he three? Is his paper route not giving him enough cash to buy a crappy used car at least? I mean, what hope do you have when someone could run along side your means or transportation or just throw a stick at it and bring you face first into asphalt.

Anyway, being more serious, havent the Jewish faithful had enough? KI mean, they've been through literally THOUSANDS of years of abuse, cant we just stop and give them some time off?

...

yeah I dont see this defense standing up, especially once the court sees that he may have been unstable before thsi.

EDIT:

He should of used the Chewbaca Defense. Saying games made me do it, well it can't be helped your so easily influenced and have no self control.

Like someone said, business as usual.

I blame video games for World War 1 and 2. Just look at an Xbox controller and tell me that pulling a trigger and fighting for your life isn't the same as sitting in a chair, pushing a button!
