The way I see it:
DotA: Has a devoted fanbase that isn't growing.
HoN: Is a less visually appealing f2p MOBA.
DotA2: Has this elitist vibe about it, and is more strategic as opposed to flashy.
LoL: Looks nice, easily accessible.
Smite: no

With the 2 top contenders being Dota2 and LoL, LoL has faster action because abilities do more damage, and it looks flashier. And it's free. It's just the best thing on the market atm for most MOBA lovers. When Blizzard finally gets their act together I'm sure Blizzard Dota will shake things up.

Ezreal needed a nerf, yes. It still procs Trinity Force, it still gives the attack speed buff to all allies in its blast.

So yeah, it's still pretty good. It just makes trades less one sided for ezreal who already has a flash, an attack speed buff, and considerable burst and poke
Hahaha.

Nerfing Ezreal, oh lawd.
Riot is really getting the the bottom of the barrel with their "fixes" now.

When he first came out and he actually healed people and flux actually did some damage too, I could understand it.
This though?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Sincerely,
Ezreal fanboy.

Akali is easy mode Katarina?
Boy, did you get hit on the head hard or something?

Katarina is a walking ultimate and nothing more.

Dota 2 isn't even out of the beta at the moment, that's the fun part.

Smite's not that bad. I mean, thankfully it is still in beta, but it shows signs of potential.

I'm still pissed they got rid of dodge runes. I had a Sivir build that with my runes by level 30 had over a 200% dodge chance, very rare anything ever hit me. I understand why they took it away but it still pisses me off. The thing that angered me the most though was they replaced all my high level dodge runes with low level ability power runes.

I've only played it a couple times since they did that... not really interested anymore, I guess they disenfranchised me.

Ok Cavan you are what the world calls a fan boy. This was a completely made up scenario of one scenario for the future of lol in like 2 years+. Im sorry you have a massive reading disability but please understand that you have it and don't be a massive cock for no reason. The other massive probelm with the diarrhea seeping from your mouth, comes from their loss of over 100k players in the last year. The number of accounts is strong but in a game with free accounts you cant use that. The 2 people I know that play have 17 accounts between the 2 of them. I actually don't know anyone who plays the game with only 1 account. So I'm sorry that your massive fanboy boner won't let you see numbers such as average players logged in count dropping 100k at all times. That is to say at every hour in the day of today there are 100k less people playing it then there were a year ago. That is called a dying game. Its fact and logic using the definition of words. Now reach your hand behind you and down your pants grab that pointy wooden thing sticking out and rip it out of your ass.
There I was, about to go and apologise for being grouchy and reactionary, *shrug* have it whichever way you want. I never said anything about how I think the game it going to survive; only that your 'hypothetical' scenario is misleading and just straight up wrong.

The reason seeing it annoys me is because there are so many valid criticisms you could make of their business model and the game itself.

I have no comment on how many people are playing or leaving, I don't care if Dota 2 is going to drive LoL out of the tournaments LoL threw so much money trying to achieve. I don't even care if their current model drives them into the ground, all I commented on was the fact that 'you know some people' and that those people have opinions and/or multiple accounts, means sod all.

I had to laugh last night because who was playing Smite on Twitch: none other than 2 members of the top US LoL team Solo Mid.

Meh, as long as LoL is played as much as it is now and has the amount of price money offered in competitive tournaments, I'm fairly certain the game is going to live quite well. Riot needs to be less derpy in their tournaments, and they need to stop balancing around pubs, but that's about it. It's still the most beginner-friendly out of the big-name MOBAs, and it's still fun even though I think both Dota 2 and HoN are more entertaining.

Also, this is the kind of posts that I should just leave alone, but whatever.
Hahaha.

Afaik Ezreal has the highest winrate of any champion right now, that's grounds for nerfing him right there. Either that, or buffing his counters(currently amounting to "not very many"), giving him a counter hero(which can be banned) or just flat-out buffing every other champion.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Ez is my favorite champion as well.

Nope. Katarina's biggest strength is her passive, as it makes her the best clean-up-champion in the entire game. She's got weaknesses and her ult is handy, but her passive is what makes her good.

I mean it can be a pretty fun game, so I am sure there are plenty of other MOBA pros who have given it a shot. I doubt it will become much of an e-sport or anything, but I never cared for the competitive scene anyway.

Personally I think the best thing Riot could do is add new game modes. I gave LoL up quite awhile ago when Super monday night combat came out. It was just more fun for me but I eventually put that away and now my current free to play game is blacklight Retribution. However one of the key reasons for me leaving LoL and going to SMNC was the game was feeling to samey. I started playing LoL right when Yorick came out and I think I quit just after Jayce came out.

I had played hundreds (maybe thousands) of games in summoners rift and I didnt really care for the 3v3 or dominion games so they could have had more modes to switch it up and keep it interesting.

IMO the game doesnt need more champions it needs more variety in the games.

I don't think it's that unbalanced and I don't mind the huge roster of champions they have. I don't think it's going to die out easily. The business model seems to be working out for them really, so I assume it will stay the same.

On a related note, what is happening with the EU West servers? I can't get online and the website is down too. I must feed my addiction!

I don't think Riot are going anywhere for a long time, as long as they handle they tournaments better in the future. god damn that finally was bad.
from what I hear they have so money that they would be able go on for at least 10 years without having to worry about anything at all.

Maybe they'll move on to make other games with the characters...I want first person shooter with Caitlyn and Teemo.

Except, not really. For the whole balance issue I'll just say Syndra and leave it at that.

As for their business model, I believe it will slowly shift towards tournaments/streamers bringing in considerable income while still retaining cosmetic micro-transactions. Hopefully they will adjust the champion and runepage IP cost to make it viable without having to resort to RP .

I just want a game where you shoot Teemo.

I wouldn't say the highest winrate is grounds for nerfing, infact I'd say that is incredibly poor grounds.

If you actually had something concrete other than a stat that would be different.

Her passive fuels her ult, which is why I said she's nothing but a walking ultimate. My objection was saying that Akali is easy mode compared to Katarina which simply isn't true.

How about a game where you torture him to death?

Hey! Ok Kat was a walking ultimate pre rework, her other abilities can actually stand up on their own without Death Lotus now!

Q,W alone does tons of damage once you get them leveled. E is just for mobility now sadly, I miss the days where Kat could just walk into some low health people and just vanish into purple smoke two or three times for easy kills.

Seriously I loved that first Shunpo animation

Now when your ult gets cancelled instead of you freaking out over how useless you are without it you just spam Q and W for the win.
