Gaz
As soon as the earth was gone, Gaz surrounded himself in a flickering shield of electricity, somehow warding the flames off of him as he took several deep gasps of air. His chest was covered in severe burn marks, and seared flesh was visible in a few flecked areas.
The little man scrambled for a glass, making a pathetic moan as the liquid was flung into the air. It came back down inside a vial he had grabbed, much to the man's relief. He got back up and made a wicked smile.
"Powers? No." He chuckled a bit. "Magic." He moved with startling speed and flung out a quarter of the liquid, now dark and gray instead of brilliant lavender color. If even a drop of this hit Amaranth, the man could get him out of the city once and for all.
Buck
Buck was shocked by the sheer size of the dragon. He'd never fought one before, but had assumed they wouldn't be quite that large. As the claws came on either side, Buck outstretched his arms like stone pillars and caught them. The two forces collided with a loud smash, as if two trucks had just crashed into each other. But Buck remained strong enough to stop the attempt with significantly more effort than before.
"Whaddaya know," he said, beads of sweat running down his brow after a sharp intake of air. "even wit' all dis transformin' and magic, ya still can't competes wit' me. Stings, don't it?"
Oliver
Oliver continued to pull, still attempting to draw him closer even as he saw what he was going to try and do. Go for it. He thought. Come on, Jason, do it. Give me an opening and go for it!
In the corner May watched as her husband and bodyguard fought for her. She had attempted to join the fray multiple times now, but every time she did Noah began to cry. For whatever reason the Rat Pack wasn't responding to her summons to watch the kid, forcing her to sit on the sidelines. The temptation was growing to just strap the kid on her back and go fight.
