Dexter spun around. "He-hey, just the gals I was looking for. Wait, how's Jess still alive? I thought it killed all the norms..." He paused mid-sentence. "Were you hiding superpowers, Jess?"
"And how did you do that?" Dexter asked with a slight grin. "Or am I thinking too far into this?"

Memoir stalked through the city. the blood of the former citizens oozed from his hands. He licked the back of his hand, "Good eatin'." and continued to walk until he reached a bunch of people. Some appeared to be fighting. "Piqued my in-ter-est~ come prey, I will hunt you." He muttered softly to himself malicious thoughts oozed from him. as he approached he took the form of a orange haired girl with white clothing and silenced his thoughts. "Ummm...Can you help me, ma'ams? Sir?"
Kor is jolted out of meditation when he see's Roxanne emerge. He flies quickly to the warehouse and observes the knocked out Hobo. He gives a chuckle and nudges the man. "Hello jess, I take it Roxanne got you out" Kor says.
Gaz watched dumbfounded as Amaranth managed to walk right past him. He swiveled on his feet, trying to find how it could have happened, but was dumbfounded at the sheer impossibility of the entire moment. As the killer got close to the old man, a crinkled smile snapped onto his face. "Right on time!" He shouted, finally finishing the chanting. Before anything could happen, however, the old man was hit dead-on by the charge. He was lifted off of his feet, hurtling through a window and into a nearby deli.
"Aw, fuck!" Gaz shouted. He jumped through the window to find the old man lying incapacitated underneath a fruit stand. With a little effort, Gaz lifted the stand and tossed it to the side, kneeling down to get a better look. The old man was bleeding heavily, and from what he could see, his entire ribcage had been shattered from the impact. He was wheezing terribly, and it was obvious he couldn't breathe. But for the moment, he was alive. He looked up at Gaz with a knowing smile. "It worked." He whispered.
Outside, Amaranth was surrounded by a lavender dust, having spread from the small amount that had impacted him when in dragon form. It swirled about, before moving above and below him and making two portals. A binding energy worked to root him to the spot as the portals moved in from both directions.
"Leave, now!" The old man shouted in a weak voice. "Leave this city, and never.. return..." His eyes slowly closed, and his head tilted to the side as a final breath.

The old man's dead, but I didn't introduce him just as a guy to fight Amaranth; he'll get some post-mortem interaction I promise.
Karen remembered she wasn't wearing any bandages but she swallowed her pride and presented herself. "Kor, You know these people I assume. Dunno who you all are, but hey nice to meet you. The name's Karen." She placed the uzi back into her leg. She reached out to shake someone's hand. "I don't suppose you could ignore my face?"
"Pretty boss jess" Kor says. "I am glad to see you aren't harmed Roxanne"

Kor suppressed a grin as Jess spoke. "What exactly is your power Jess?" Kor asks as he glances around. "It might be cool"
