Dan frowned, sadly and looked at the floor again. Why don't you eliminate the competition? I don't kill people Ceberus. Oh yeah...
"Damn..." Dan muttered, "I knew the age would screw up my chances."
Dan starred at Jess for a moment. A grin began to spread on his face, but didn't make it all the way.
"Well, you're pretty and i like your personality..." Dan began, thinking of what to say.
"Well...you're funny, 99% of the time. Heh, you're pretty stubborn too. You're quite kind...and looking at your relationship with Roxanne, you must be a good friend." He said.
He looked Jess in the eye. He really liked her, but he had come to the conclusion that the chance of him being with her in percentage was about 30%. Not a lot.
Kor walks up to the apartment and pulls on the knob. Locked He thinks as he fires some Gel into the lock and unlocks it. He walks upstairs with a yawn. "Nice place you got here dan." He says as he pulls up a chair and sits on it.
BTW, i meant get her as in "Wake her up". Although i'd prefer you didn't. It's up to you though.
"Well, I don't really want to talk about it anymore. I don't love her anymore. Anyway, here it is:
Back when i was in school, there was this beautiful girl. I started gradually talking to her and then eventually, she asked me out. Obviously i accepted and we fell in love. One day we were in the park together and she was abducted by those pimps. I didn't know it was them until Ceberus told me.
That's about it i'm afraid. You know the rest." Dan told her. Ceberus straightened up proudly.
"Don't be an idiot." He said to him loudly so Jess could hear as well. Ceberus flatened out a bit. That wasn't very nice. deal with it. I'm not happy right now.
Man, I swear this was about heroes at some point. Also,
WALL OF TEXT 3: OLIVER GOES WEST
Far inside the Rat Pack's HQ, half a dozen citizens were gathered in an odd room. It was massive; they rested on the ground level, actually just a walkway surrounded a 20-meter drop to the basement level, where a dozen Rat Pack members stood waiting. Above them were several suspended platforms, littered with crates and other debris. On one of these platforms stood Oliver and a medic, ready to observe the group's progress.
"Is Lambda team ready to move?" Oliver asked the medic. No words came, but a thumbs-up indicated that the test was prepared to begin. "All right." Oliver said. He looked over the edge at the group gathered.
Billy, the young man from before, stood at the head of the group. Behind him stood a small girl, holding a scroll and brush in her hands. A skinny teenager stood beside her, stretching his muscles as if he were about to run. Near the back of the group stood a man and a woman, twins if Oliver remembered correctly. They were dark green cloaks covering them, making it impossible to gauge their emotions. Towering over them all was a ludicrously muscular man with an odd, blond mustache further adding to his peculiar looks. There was a sparkle in his doe eyes, anticipating the coming action.
"All right," Oliver said. "bring up the marskmen."
The basement level began to rise, evening out with the walkway. The Rat Pack saw the group, and fired instantly.
Each member of the team reacted as they practiced. The stretching boy shot from the point where he stood at blinding speed. He ran around the walkway, the Rat Pack's bullets bouncing harmlessly on the walls where he was but a moment before. He managed to get all away to the other side of the room before ducking behind a pillar and waiting for stage two.
The muscle man actually pounded the ground in front of him with his fist, bringing up a large stone wall that absorbed the gunfire. The little girl opened her scroll and got to work with her brush, quickly sketching a large flying beast. When she was done, the scroll lit up, and the beast flew from the page and into the air, menacing the Rat Pack from above. The soldiers reacted logically and focused their fire on it, allowing for phase two.
The two cloaked twins clasped hands, and suddenly disappeared. Billy, meanwhile, split into two bodies. Each went on the other side of the barrier separating the walkway from the Rat Pack's platform, and split one extra each to help climb over the wall. As the Rat Pack continued attacking the flying creature, one of them disappeared without warning. Screams and punching noises were heard from nearby, and the gangsters were distracted long enough for the Billys to hop down and attack. Each one incapacitated a guard, knocking him out with a single punch. The remaining 8 turned to face them, and pulled their triggers. They were caught off guard when no bullets came. The looked to find that their weapons had been stolen from their hands by the teenager, and dumped in a corner of the room.
The guards charged with stun batons, only to be stopped by inky black tentacles coming from below, yet another drawing of the little girl. Satisfied, the heroes gathered the guards together before the muscled man used the same technique as before to form a cage around them.
Oliver clapped, satisfied with the improvement the team had made. He didn't stay to compliment them in person though, and immediately left the room. He was met by one of May's lieutenants.
"The teams are doing fine." Oliver said. "I need to get back out there and find the people responsible for this mess."
"But sir," the lieutenant said. "every patrol we've sent out into the city has been killed. We don't have enough men to run any forward operations; if you're going, you're going alone."
"That's fine by me." Oliver said. By now he had reached the elevator leading up to the hospital above ground. "I'll be back when I've got Jason's head."
Dan walked over to Roxanne Kor and JEss. He stood next to JEss and Starred at Kor.
"Why does everyone keep breaking into my apartment?!"
He glimpsed at Jess, something which had become a habit, and then back at Kor.
