Even as socially inept and oblivious as he normally was, even Magus could see that Darian was getting upset.

"Well..." Magus began, visibly embarrassed for even suggesting this, "I can link the door to my Sanctuary to anywhere memorable that I have been to before... I was never entirely sure if this was affected by how the destination had changed over time... so... there is a chance that if we can link my Sanctuary to a landmark that I've been to... we should theoretically come out during the last time that I was there. The only trouble with this idea is that I wasn't in Bright Grove long enough to take in any of the landmarks... and the other landmarks I've been to are spread out all over the country."
"I see. Is there any way you could work around that?" Darian asked. If there were a workaround, she'd do what she could to help. Not that I don't enjoy his company, but I'd like to get home. At the very least, to get a new glove.
"Maybe," Magus thought aloud, "Maybe if we go to a memorable landmark elsewhere as I remember it during that time... then we can get back to Bright Grove... it doesn't actually have to be somewhere I've been technically... as long as I can picture it clearly in my head, we can get there... though, photos or clear memories do help."
"I see... Is there anything around here that could help?" Darian looked around the room for some pictures or something. Anything that would suffice to help make a way back to the past.
"About a month, give or take. Wh-" Darian connected the dots. Ah crap. "Is that enough time?" she asked. Well, that figures. Ah well, let's get this over with.
"It could be," Magus said, wrapping his hands in Umbra's, "I don't need to go so deep into your mind as I did with Cameron/Dren. Just keep thinking of a familiar place that was around in your time, anywhere in the city that you had a clear memory of. I'll pick that up and I should be able to use it to take us back."
Magus closed his eyes and emptied his mind, and allowed his consciousness to flow outwards from him until it gently brushed against Umbra's.

Yeah, I hear you. I'll try to put us at the cafe she though, re-affixing her outer mask. If this works, it'll be like we never left. Darian cleared her thoughts, focusing on the cafe... quite well, actually. If not for her focus, she'd point out that she was good at meditation exercises.
