"Damn..." Jason hissed, jumping backwards out of the building and taking flight, flying up into the air and away from the mansion. He didn't know if anyone was following, but he was going to do as Oliver told him. He sheathed his sword and did a flip so that he turned around completely, beginning his flight away.

"You were brought back into my Sanctuary," Magus replied, "Because you have a permanent invitation," he lifted Umbra's arm where he had left the rune, "Don't worry... this will just help me find you if you are in danger. As for when we are... its a little hard to explain, but my Sanctuary is a bit... timeless... or at least... its time doesn't function the same way as what you perceive to be 'normal' time. I think all we have managed to do in the end however, was stall the inevitable. I have no doubt that this Minus figure will appear again."

Magus started pacing through his Sanctuary.

"The question is..." he said after a while, "What do we do with this knowledge? Assuming we can get back to our time on our own... what do we do about the knowledge of this 'Paragon' and his rival 'Minus'? I simply don't know."

Then Magus stood beside Umbra again, and joined his right hand with hers.

"What I do know, is that for some reason," he said, "I find myself drawn to you. I find it easier to trust you than I have trusted anyone else in my entire life. I know that may seem strange to you... it certainly does to me... so... to help establish some mutual trust and understanding between us... ask me any question about my past, and I will answer you if I can."

We were in something akin to a private mansion, right?
Hivemind lunged through the hole in the wall motioning for the other junior heroes to follow him "Come on everyone! They're buying us time. Let's use it!" He came across a large section of wall. "This'll only be a second" Diverting 6% power to achieve greater velocity of nano-drill. The drill-blades began to shriek menacingly. He brought the drill slamming against the wall.

"Come on then." Oliver said, staring Minus down. As another goon charged him, his energy arm become a large drill, which he brutally drove through the man's torso. He fell to the ground dead, and Paragon remained stoic as he waited. He realized that Minus was probably far more powerful than he was giving him credit for. But that didn't matter. He would leave when every other hero was gone first. And after he had made the villain understand very clearly why bringing him to the future was a bad idea.

Minus sighed, "10. I knew I would do this... I'm okay with it." he said as he jumped at Oliver, swinging his sword as he landed down. The weapon cut straight through another of his goons without slowing down to much, still aiming for Oliver.

<spoiler=OOC>Yeah, Its like a mansion. You guys are on the second floor, so jumping down would be okay, and it shouldn't be to hard, there will be the occasional goon to take down, but most of them are slaves drained of most of their energy.

Rachel, seeing that a large man was coming at her, became enraged. She grabbed the man with her powers. "You ignorant, obsessive," She tore the large man's arms off, "Cold, heartless, hypocritical," she started to crush his ribs, one by one, "Asshole who only thinks about his job and nothing about his wife!" She screamed out before crushing the man to nothing but a centimeter large box. She let the squishy cube hit the ground and breathed heavily for a second. "That... felt rather good. I'm going now." She quickly turned around and flew out the hole made by Jason, leaving the others behind and a nice coating of blood on the floor where the goon was. I realllly hope Jason didn't hear that. Chances are he would actually kill me considering what I just said to him. Fuck, I need to say I'm sorry for that... I don't even know why I said that... Her head was now mostly clear, having gotten rid of her anger, and with now being outside in the cool air.

As Minus came down Oliver charged forward, snarling a bit to psyche out his opponent. He swung in with his machete arm, catching Minus' blade as it came down. Oliver immediately felt a strong pressure as he struggled to keep him back. Damn! Good thin I can multitask.

While Minus was occupied with his energy arm, his real arm swung in with the blade it was clutching, going for a quick jab to his side.

Hivemind deactivated his Hud. It drained power too fast. The nano-drill had also reverted to a normal hand in order to save power. He swore quietly in hindu under his breath. "How do I get out of here?" he heard the trumping of footsteps and he placed his back against the wall. "Boy vs. world, huh? what is this some bad action show. Nah... this is real life.."

"Magus, I..." Umbra didn't know what to say as her heart began to race. He... That much? But even so... "Magus," she finally began, reaching for her outer mask. "You don't need to answer anything... If anything, I owe you some answers. After all..." She flipped up the outer mask, revealing an eyepatch, a bandanna, and... another mask. "You haven't even seen my face." The inner mask was skin-tight, so it was obvious she was smiling at the ridiculousness of it all.

Magus took in all that Umbra was showing him, he brushed his left hand on her cheek under the eye-patch.

"You don't need to show me your face if you don't want to," he said, "I know what its like to feel like you need to hide everything from everyone. I've actually been on the run for most of my adult life."

"You have?" Umbra was oddly surprised by the admission, enough so that her skin even returned to its normal pale color. Well, I would be too, if not for the redundant masks. "You get into trouble with the law or something?" she asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Quite the opposite in fact," Magus said, "I helped the Miami Police force arrest, try, and convict my grandfather, Dexter Morgan, of multiple counts of murder. I've been on the run because I knew that he was far too clever to be held in a state prison. You may have heard of him as the 'Bay Harbor Butcher'... or the 'Dark Defender'... he was a serial killer who killed other serial killers. I have reason to believe that he is still hunting me, wanting revenge. Just goes to show you that when the chips are down, any kind of 'code' or 'law' doesn't matter a flying shit to people."

"Oh..." Umbra said, feeling her amusement was a faux pas. "Sorry to hear that." She'd question why he'd be running from a normal person, but she could tell there was something he'd omitted. Of course, one more thing did slip out. "How did you catch him?" she asked, the question spoken as it it were thought aloud.

"Because he tried to bring me under his wing," Magus admitted with a great deal of shame in his voice, "He knew I was developing urges similar to his own, and instead of attempting to helping me control them and get rid of them... he just tried to brainwash me the same way his foster father did to him. He wanted me to become his successor, to kill other serial killers. Well... I just got tired of the hypocrisy... so... all of the sudden a great deal of evidence the police had needed to nail him to the wall just... turned up at their doorstep. Dexter is only ordinary in what he is physically capable of. However, he is far too clever to be left alive, but even I can't bring myself to kill him. Neither could the state... he got life in prison. Since I left him, I have been able to control my darker urges by summoning illusions to fight. Of course here... they can become quite real if I let them... until I finish them off. I'll understand if you would prefer to avoid me in the future."

"Magus." Umbra stepped forward, putting a hand on Magus's shoulder. "The fact that you hold shame for all of that, and avoid the path they set for you... That makes you different than them. As long as you don't want to be like them, as long as you keep yourself off that path, then you don't need to worry about it." I may not have had killing urges myself, but with Shinobi, I'd had more than enough experiences with it.

Magus looked into Umbra's eyes appreciatively.

"Thank you," he told her, a single tear escaped his left eye, "I've never really... told anyone this before... and well... this was why I looked to you to make a decision about Minus and Paragon, I simply didn't know who to trust... my deductive reasoning simply failed me in there. But you do need to understand that as much as I've tried not to... I have killed people before. I don't hold any pretensions to the higher moral ground that my grandfather tried to claim. But I have always tried to make sure that I had a damn good reason for doing so. And... somehow... I trust you enough to tell you my real name... Geoff... Geoff Morgan."

Umbra smiled. "Mine's Darian, Darian Daniels. And I already told you, you don't need to worry about any of it." If Shinobi had been more successful... Shaking off those thoughts, Darian decided that Magus - er, Geoff - had done more than enough painful revelation. Patting his shoulder, Darian removed her hand and walked further into the Sanctuary. "So then Geoff, I do believe I owe you some answers. Anything in particular you'd like to know?"

"Darion," Magus repeated as though tasting her name, "Where did you learn your skills?"

"I've been honing some for as long as I can remember, but... my fighting skills were refined when a 'hero' who called himself Shinobi decided to apprentice me. As per his namesake, he dressed up - and acted - like an exaggerated ninja, but he did have a lot of knowledge in stealth and weapon combat. He was the one who told me exactly what my powers were, oddly enough." She sighed, looking away; Darian didn't like bringing up Akira.

Shinobi might be a recognizable name, but remember that his apprentice was called Shadow. Also, Akira - Shinobi - was cold, uncaring, very strict, and may or may not have done contract killing AND bounty hunting.
