Ana's jaw dropped. The Oliver boy had over stepped the line! She dropped Ashe's hand and stepped towards Oliver. She could feel her face heating up.

"Do you?! DO YOU?! Yes you bloody well do! What, the fact that I saved your ungrateful life and nearly died because of it isn't enough for a mere thank you??" Ana was trying so hard not to let the angry tears show in her eyes or crack in her voice. She was shaking with rage and her aura was turning into a visible white glow. "I don't know who this Jason person is, but if you're this rude all of the time, maybe he's not showing himself on purpose!"

Ana immediately regretted what she said, and placed her palm on her forhead while she cooled down. Her temper was really becoming an issue these days...

Hivemind was about to greet the two who had appeared and had started to extend his hand when the girl had started shouting. He froze in place. I was always terrible at dealing with people like this. The nano-bots instantly responded to his fear by creating armour around his neck and vital points.

As soon as Ana was finished shouting and crying, Oliver put his hand on her shoulder. There was a look of earnestness on his face.

"I'm sorry, Charmer. I was unconscious during what happened after the fight. If you're responsible for saving me, thank you. Honestly. But right now I'm trying to coordinate a team that's 20 years out of its time and scattered across who-knows-where. So I hope you'll forgive me for being a little cold."

He turned to the secretary behind her security shield. "As for you..." His suit materialized a long serrated sword almost the length of Oliver's body. With a single swipe, the shield was split open. With a second, the shield shattered; shards of it rained down to the floor, but through a miracle none even came close to the secretary.

"Why don't you take the rest of the day off?" Oliver said terrifyingly calmly. "The stress of your job is obviously getting to you, so I'll handle things from here. Oh, and thank you for the information."

The receptionist got up and ran off, muttering foul things to herself about Oliver.

"You do know that scaring away the one person we could talk to about what this time is like probably wasn't the best idea right?" Ashe asked Oliver, holding the bridge of his nose at that mistake.

Ana looked up to see that the timid looking boy... Armour was beginning to form around parts of his body, she quickly realised they were his vital points.
Her anger temporarily gone she stared at this spectacle with wide eyes. Wondering how that was possible.

Now completely ignoring Oliver she walked towards the boy, inspecting his newly appeared armour with absolute awe.

"H-How did you do that?" She asked in a shyly amused voice, her normal temperament returning for now.

Darian turned to Geoff, ecstatic. "It means that I can use this power now, rather than having to suppress it." Running out of breath, she took a break to breathe. "My ability to generate the stuff is linked to my emotions, so it caused obvious problems when I had no control over it. But now..." She sighed, contented. "Now I don't have to worry about it. It'll take some time for me to master it to the extent future-Umbra seems to have, but at least I don't have to constantly keep it under control anymore." It would have been catastrophic during one of my heists she mused.

Hivemind spoke up quietly "I'm a... nano-hive." He looked really confused by the sudden attention. "I'm not all that interesting." He blushed. "Ummmm... I'm Hi-Hivemind... or Abhaya. Which ever you prefer."

"She already kind of hated me, if you didn't notice." Oliver stated to Ashe. "Besides, I have little doubt that something she'll say is going to tip off Minus sooner or later. It's bad enough if he figures out where we are, I'd rather not have him know what we're doing. If it's information you want, I can get you into the Renegades' database. Turns out my future self and I think alike. Go figure.

"That's great!" Geoff said with now more informed excitement now that he knew what had happened, "That's great! And I have some news as well... you know that upgrade to my staff I found? I think I may finally be able to keep up with you on rooftop chases... its better if I show you what I mean."

With that Geoff took Darian's hand and led her to the nearest fire-escape. Once there, he raised his staff, aiming it towards the top of the building.

"You might want to hold on tight to me," he said, "This is the first time I've tried this kind of material displacement... er... it might be better to think of it as a kind of teleportation."

With that, Geoff looked up and muttered an incantation, a beam of green light shot out of his staff, one which Geoff allowed only himself and Darian to see... and then everything turned green for Geoff and Darian as they seemed to be shot straight up into the air at neck-break speed, until they suddenly, and gently stepped off onto the roof of the Renegades' building.

"It worked!" he exclaimed, "What do you think Darian?"

"I think you might give me a run for my money now," Umbra quipped, having slipped on her masks before they went outside. "Though I think full out I'd still win, you get the advantage of not being restricted on the amount of light available." Though with black fire, it's more of a disadvantage. "Congratulations though." She nodded at him, the mask not showing facial expression. "But it seems visiting here was a good idea after all... at the very least we're more equipped for a rematch. Too bad I couldn't break into my Other's stuff though..."

"Nano-hive?" Ana giggled at the boys shyness. "I'm Charmer." She suddenly felt more confident, this boy had a sincerity about him and she instantly trusted him. She stuck out her hand for him to shake.

Turning her head slightly she looked over her shoulder at the others. "Oliver, nobody hates you, but I'm sure your bossy attitude will get us no where. Also stop being so suspiscious. If our future selves hired that woman she must be trustworthy." Ana placed a finger to her chin in thought and faced Abhaya again smiling.

"Actually," Geoff thought aloud, "I've been thinking that there might be a way for our powers to work together... hang on a minute."

Geoff led Darian through the nearest roof access door, and closed it behind them. There were a few lights, without explaining what he was about to do, Geoff pounded his staff into the ground, blocking every source of light in the room.

"Do you feel stronger?" he asked her.

Hivemind cautiously shook her hand. It was warm. "Its very nice to meet you Charmer. As for the term Nano-hive... My body contains millions of nano-bots. Their sort of like... little mechanics." For the first time he calmed down enough to stop stuttering. Briefly. When she turned back to him and smiled his face turned even redder.

"It's not really a 'feeling' sort of deal... but yeah, this would help out a lot," Umbra commented. Channeling her power full-blast, she jumped back past Geoff. "Oh yeah," she confirmed with anticipation. "This'll help. The only way to improve it further would be to have that black fire in here as well..." Why do I have the feeling we've made an error? Shaking off the wave of paranoia for now, she looked over to Geoff. "How many more tricks does that staff of yours have?"

"I'm afraid," he said, "A good magician can't reveal his secrets... in this case literally... if I told you how it worked, it wouldn't affect you that much. Don't try to work out how my little buff for you works, once you do, it will stop working. But other tricks? Well... let's go back outside..."

Geoff opened the door, and led Darian back out to the roof.

"Okay... you might want to stand back a bit..." he warned.

Geoff waited for Darian to back away by a good 10-feet before he started chanting a continuous incantation, first a dark green and gray force-field formed around him in a perfect sphere, then it burst into flames.

Minus laughed, "Soon Jean, Soon" he said to him. "Get some practise with those new weapons, you are leading the groups to take done their HQ in a few days, get some good practise in, you will need it" he answered before walking off, "Enjoy my mansion, dow aht you want around."

Ashe didn't know what to say. 'Why is this guy so paranoid?' he thought to himself, before blurting out "Why would we even need our future selves? Wouldn't it be easier and better if we just went back to our time? Less of us dying that way, and we can change history too, stop him before he turns into this mad man" he said, thinking to himself that it all made sense.

He glanced at Charmer talking to the timid little boy. He was happy when he heard that she told him her name was CHarmer, and not her true name. He shook his head again, and went back to looking at Oliver, "Isn't getting back to our time the best use of our time?" he asked.

"Yes, it is." Oliver said to Ashe, already trying to decipher just what he thought of him. Everybody thinks I go overboard on these things. But at the end of the day I'm the one still standing, so I wouldn't know about that.

"Getting back to our own time is our number-one priority. But I have a feeling that if there's any way to do that Minus is going to be working hard to make sure we can't get our hands on it. As far as we know, as a matter of fact, the only time-travel related tech is the machine that brought us here to begin with. If it comes down to taking that machine, I'm not taking any chances. We'll need as much backup as possible, and that means finding the future Renegades."

Nice upgrade. Umbra clapped at the pyrotechnic show she was treated to. "Encore!" she called out. You know, for claiming to envy my powers' tangibility, you sure seem to enjoy the spectacle. But then... I guess I do too, for all the stealth I normally do.

Ana's smiled wavered as she listened to the people behind her. She sighed and let go of Hivemind's hand. "I suppose someone has to be the voice of reason here, huh?" She smiles at Abhaya again before turning to face Ashe and Oliver.

"Would you two quit arguing?" She said in a stern voice. She placed her hands on her hips and shook her head. "Ashe is right, if we can't get back then there will be no future selves. We'll be stuck here. If we stop arguing and work together I'm sure we can think of a way to stop Minus and get home. By ourselves." She turned to Oliver. "All of us will need to work together. Seperately there is no way any of us can defeat Minus."
