"I imagine it would've," Darian said humorously. "But I get what you mean, Geoff. These past few days haven't been the best - what with Minus and all - but it certainly would have sucked a lot more if you weren't here." Speaking of which... Darian remembered how he'd acted at the cafe. "I never did properly thank you for what you tried to do for me at the cafe, did I?" she asked, waiting a moment for her right hand to subtly slip off her facemask. She turned and pulled Geoff into a kiss with her left hand. Thank you.

"Mmph," was all Geoff could manage before Darian pulled him into the kiss, his eyes were wide open with surprise for a moment, and then he relaxed, embraced Darian and kissed her back. The kiss seemed to last for a wonderful eternity, and even as they pulled away, Geoff was determined to always remember that kiss.

"Heh," he said after they pulled out of the kiss, "I..." he cleared his throat again, "Well... uh... what do you think that amulet you left for yourself means? Is it supposed to help you control your powers in some way?"

The secretary looked up. "Noah, calm the hell down" she said to him. "I said your dad is off in his room asleep, Jason is in the infirmary, and the rest should either be around here, or doing simple missions." she responded to him, still thinking he was his own son.

Well I'm embarrassed now...
Hivemind felt like he'd forgotten something. He checked his pockets and everything was still there so he headed back down to check. There he saw Oliver glaring at the secretary. He let out a little yelp. "Ummm... S-s-sorry... I-i think." His face lost it's color fast. "H-h-hello, Mr. Oliver!" The last part of the sentence turned out to be a bit of a yell.

Jason closed the book, having just finished it. He laid his head back against the tree, closing his eyes as the cool night air rustled the leaves in the tree. He had ready every part of the book, from beginning to end, and he was shocked at what he had read. In the book he had learned exactly how to begin harnessing Darkfire's power, or, letting it release itself entirely without losing control. He had learned his whole life story, detailed from the day he was born, to the day he had gained his power, to just a few months ago. That was when the entries stopped, which was the least of Jason's concerns now. This book was a treasure trove of information, giving information on Darkfire's soul that Jason had no idea even existed.

So now you realize who was speaking with you? Good... if I had to listen to your stupid ramblings any longer I think I might have gone insane! A voice cackled, echoing through the courtyard.

Yea... and I finally understand just how powerful you are Darkfire... I never realized, not once in the years we've been sharing this body... Jason thought, knowing from the book, that was how he could communicate with Darkfire.

Its a shame it took you this long to realize, I've been waiting. It is time we began your training, and not the pathetic things you've done in the past to try and unlock my dragon form, no... this time, I will not hold back. Darkfire echoed, immediately after which, Jason felt himself pulled away from the real world, and into something else entirely.

-----------------------------------------------------

Jason looked around, and saw himself in a large cave-like structure. Lava flowed freely a hundred feet below on either side of the enormous flattened stalagmite that Jason now sat on. Jason stood up and brushed himself off, trying to figure out were he was before he heard a low echoing laugh, something that disturbed Jason to no end.

Jason whipped around to see a man about Jason's age walking on small steps made of bright orange flame, coming down straight towards Jason. This man had strikingly bright silver hair that was tied back in a ponytail, and dark-blood red eyes. The man was wearing a black jacket, and black pants, and he was almost a copy of Jason, with just a few minor differences.

"I see you are are well... and you look much like me." The man said, his voice coming out smoothly yet somehow dark and eerie.

"I assume your Darkfire? What was that you said about training?" Jason asked, watching Darkfire descend using the flames until he was standing on the same pedestal that Jason was on.

"Its simple... defeat me, and I will allow you to access power that you can only dream of." Darkfire said with an evil smile, drawing a sword from its sheath on his back. The blade was pure white, and yet it seemed to give off an evil vibe.

Without warning, Darkfire attacked, creating a cloud of dust were he had been standing seconds before. He flew towards Jason with unprecedented speed, lashing out with his sword so that Jason only had time to bring out his own sword before they clashed. Darkfire forced Jason's blade down, driving it into the rock as he landed on the other side of Jason, leaving a cut on Jason's shoulder. Jason turned around, to see Darkfire holding a fireball, and he had only a second to put up his armor before Darkfire threw it and it exploded on Jason, throwing him back several feet.

Jason landed hard on his back, his sword still gripped tightly in his hand. Darkfire laughed aloud, his voice carrying out across the empty cavern just as it did when Jason wore his mask. Darkfire laughed, holding out his palm towards Jason, a dark red orb forming in his hand. Jason knew the attack all too well, and he jumped backward as the orb exploded, obliterating half of the column as Jason fell down. He managed to grow his wings, allowing himself to straighten up and begin his flight back to the top of the pillar. Darkfire apparently couldn't wait, as something smashed into Jason from behind, sending him flying into a nearby pillar.

Darkfire laughed again, dark black wings sprouting from his back as he stayed in mid-air. Most of Darkfire's body was covered in armor now, the same type of armor that Jason used. Jason managed to pull himself free of the rubble around him, his body bruised and his clothing torn. He now had a trickle of blood running down his forehead as he climbed out of the rubble and jumped into the air again.

"Those were two lucky shots... I won't let them happen again." Jason said, wiping the blood out of his eyes and dashing forward. Darkfire smiled, and darted forward too, a burst of flame appearing were his feet had been seconds before.

Jason and Darkfire collided in mid-air, an audible crash as their blades connected. They each threw a flurry of attacks, each attack more vicious then the last. This continued for a few moments before both backed away, Darkfire sporting a cut on his cheek and Jason supporting a few more cuts on the rest of his body. Darkfire reached up to his cheek and pulled his hand away to see the blood, his eyes traveling over to Jason as if he just woke up.

Darkfire didn't say anything, but faster then Jason's eyes could follow, he was behind Jason and in a second Jason was flying away, he was clearly in shock. Darkfire lowered his fist, and then disappeared again, appearing straight in the path of Jason who was punched downward to the lava below. Darkfire watched as Jason flew downward, only to recover himself at the last second. Jason recovered quickly from the shock of the attacks, and he was locked in combat with Darkfire again in a matter of seconds. This continued for quite some time before they backed away, Jason panting and clutching numerous wounds while Darkfire seemed pretty much unharmed.

"Lets finish this..." Jason said, a dark black fire engulfing him.

Darkfire smiled, and a dark black flame engulfed him as well. Both transformations took place simultaneously, Darkfire and Jason emerging from the flames in their dragon transformations. Jason locked gazes with Darkfire for a few seconds before both dragon's charged, crashing together and beginning to tear at each other with claws and teeth. Flames exploded from each Dragon's mouth, trying to burn each other to no avail. This struggle continued for quite some time before both dragon's changed back into their human forms. Jason stood panting, while Darkfire stood straight up with his sword in his hand.

"You cannot beat me, it is hopeless. You may have managed to scratch me, but you will never inflict lasting damage." Darkfire said, his face uncaring and dark. He began to walk towards Jason, his sword scraping across the platform. Darkfire grabbed Jason by the throat and picked him up off the ground, and pulled his blade back as if he was preparing to stab Jason through the heart.

"You don't understand do you? I need the power you have to save Rachel and everyone else, and I can't afford to loose now." Jason said, raising his hand to his face as a dark flame appeared. Darkfire appeared to be confused, before Jason looked down to see into Darkfire's eyes.

Jason wore his mask, his eyes black and his pupils red. He reacted too quickly for Darkfire to react, plunging his blade deep into Darkfire's stomach, piercing through the armor and skin to reach through Darkfire's body and out the other side. Darkfire let Jason drop, Jason quickly yanking his blade out of Darkfire's body and removing his mask which disappeared in a black flame.

"What the hell? What did you do?" Darkfire gasped, clutching his stomach as blood from his mouth and onto the platform.

"I found a way to harness power, just a temporary harnessing that allows me to use your power and speed for as long as I wear the mask. Every second I wear the mask my power and stamina is drained, so I can't use the mask for very long. What you just experienced, was me using your own power against you... I told you that I can't afford to lose this fight, I need your power." Jason said, falling to one knee and catching himself with his sword.

Darkfire hissed, but he was bound by his word. A pillar of flames surrounded the pair, closing in around both of them until it was completely destroyed by what appeared to be a burst of flame.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Jason woke up slumped against the tree trunk, and looked down at his ring which swirled with a darkness it hadn't had before. He smiled, a large darkness filling into the ring and coursing through the rest of his body. Something was different, but only Jason could tell there was anything different. Something seemed unlocked to him, and it felt excellent to know he had this much power.

Jason stood up, the tome of his life underneath his arm as he grew his wings. Jason darted up into the sky, and flew towards the Renegades base, landing outside and walking inside of the building, looking for anyone else he might know.

Darian smiled at his obvious change of subject, looking at the amulet. "I don't know. I think my other self practiced on it to try and get the material to act a certain way. I damaged it somewhat earlier with the light... Let's see if I can't fix it now." Putting her right glove back on, she focused on the material present. After a few moments, black smoke began to coalesce around the amulet, filling in for the missing material. After exhaling, she recollected her breath. "Alright, let's see..." She examined it, not quite bending the pendant and moving it around in her hand; it seemed to work! Darian busted out laughing. Finally! After all this time...

Ana sat down on the indigo bed.

"Well I would go to my room... but I really don't know where it is...A-and I'm kind of nervous about meeting the others, I assume they're still here?" She said slowly, trying not to blush even more at the fact that he was dressing in front of her. She looked up at him again, sure that her whole face was now pink.

"You know, there's an ensuite over there... You could have your shower and get changed while I stay here... I don't want to go anywhere and get lost... Atleast I know you enough not to... Oh hey... I have to tell you something soon..." She trailed of and laid down on the bed, closing her eyes. Listening to Ashe's movement. 'Should I really tell him my name... I haven't told anyone in so long...'

Oliver pointed at the man who had just called him Oliver. "I just met that guy, and he can tell I'm not my own son! Now listen, don't go blubbery on me, but I need to know where Oliver went--not me Oliver, but the Oliver from this time. I went in, and he was gone, along with the trenchcoat he's apparently been wearing. You must have something to keep track of him.

Ashe looked at the girl, and quickly grabbed a towel and change of pants and ran into the ensuite. He showered quickly, nervous the entire time that the door might open, or he forgot something and would have to walk out there only semi dressed again.

It was all un-eventful. He showered and was clean, after drying his hair it turned into its usual style. He put on a white t-shirt with a few colourful streaks across it, with a dark grey shirt over the top of it. He left the buttons undone, having the shirt flap open. His pants were a simple colour, just light blue jeans.

He walked out of the ensuite, to see Charmer still sitting on his bed. He stretched and looked at her, "So we go see others now?" he asked, beckoning towards the door.

The receptionist moved back and pressed a button. A security screen slammed down in front of her, stopping Oliver from moving any closer. "What are you crazy?!" she yelled at him.

<spoiler=OOC>You do understand how insane that sounds right?

Hivemind stuttered "N-no! I'm not his son! I don't have a father! I was wondering I could join the Renegades? Since we're from the same time and whatever!" He started breathing more steadily. Calm down, Abhaya. He isn't the enemy. He isn't.

"No, no!" Oliver said to Hivemind. "I'm not calling you my son, calm down. You're misunderstanding me."

He turned back to the secretary and sighed. "Okay, I'm going to explain this slowly (you didn't do what I asked you to, by the way). Minus has apparently gotten sick of the Renegades fighting him, so he yanked all of our past selves from about twenty years ago from your perspective. He fought us, we lost but escaped, and now we've come here. And I need to know about this before it gets out of hand. On top of that--" He paused as a flash of golden light formed a dagger in his hand. He immediately dissipated it, however, knowing she'd assume he was attacking her if he didn't move quickly.

"Who else could do that? Is there anything else I need to do to prove it's me, or are you going to cooperate?"

Hivemind stopped "I'm not talking about..." He sighed. "I don't... I'm not you're relative. Unless by some weird twist of fate you banged a hooker nineteen years ago." He laughed nervously.

The receptionist just looked at him. "Um... That does make sense. We do have ways of tracking them." she said a she moved to the computer, the security shield still up. She typed rapidly, finishing a large sentence in a matter of seconds. "That's odd" she commented, "I can't find him... He must be somewhere out of range or something, this has never happened though..." she sputter out, franticly typing onto the computer, trying to find the problem.

"I never said you were." Oliver calmly said to Hivemind before turning back to the receptionist.

"Well, do you know where he might have been going then?"

Geoff joined in on Darian's excitement, "Well done!" he told her, "Er... what does this mean?"

"So we go see others now?"

Ana smiled as Ashe beckoned her towards the door. she stood up and walked towards him. She paused beside him and smiled up at him before continuing out the door.

They walked through corridors and down stairs, they were silent, and yet it was no longer awkward. It was instead somehow comfortable, being near Ashe no longer felt like being with a stranger, and he no longer seemed like the arrogant boy she had pinned him for.

"What did I just say?" The receptionist said, "Last I saw him, he was in his room." she answered defiantly.

Ashe walked side by side with Charmer, it annoyed him to not know her true name, but he just shrugged it off. When they made it down the stairs, he saw Oliver and the receptionist talking, but she was behind a security shield. He walked over to them, "Hey... Oliver? Don't you have something to say to Charmer?" he said as he moved his arms towards her.

He saw a timid looking person next to him, and waved and said "Hi" to him, not knowing who he was.

Ana blushed as she saw the others, she still felt embarrassed that she hadn't been able to do more in Minus' place...

She took hold of Ashe's hand impulsively, she needed strength to meet new people and Ashe seemed like the right person for her to lean on in this situation.

"God, that's unhelpful." Oliver said in an irritated fashion. "I'd say you were working for Minus if it wasn't so obvious an answer."

He turned to see that Ashe and a girl he vaguely recognized had walked into the room.

"Hey... Oliver? Don't you have something to say to Charmer?"

"I don't know." Oliver replied. "Do I? Because right now the only thing on my mind is trying to figure out where in the hell my future self, and for that matter all the other Renegades have disappeared to. And has anyone seen Jason around? Not your Jason." Oliver corrected, pointing at the receptionist without bothering to turn to her.

"Well maybe if you weren't so incompetent, and not such a dick, then maybe you might have thought for a moment that I tried my best." The receptionist said in a huff, "Just because your future self screwed up, doesn't make me a bad guy!" she yelled at him. "Why don't you try and find him yourself then?" she asked, becoming confident behind her screen.
