Hivemind closed his eyes as he sat in the internet cafe. This was the best sort of place to recharge. His eyes even closed gave him a constant data readout of the town where other power source. He sipped his coffee. "Blah!" He eyed the coffee. "Completely black?" A blip started to register in his mind. "Good it's working. Heads-up display operational."

"Are you emo? Seriously, you may not stay dead... But it must hurt the hell! I don't think you should let him kill you is all I'm saying, but if you want get eaten." He stared at Jean's mouth. "Be my guest... He should still be taken to the police or something..."

"Hello, Jason." Oliver said, standing by the scene and watching it unfold.

"If you want my opinion, bring him in to the police. The man's obviously insane, so he should be put into an institution. No one without powers can take on heroes solo and make a career out of it. He's probably been targeting a bunch of pushovers who were just learning to use their powers."

"Bringing him to the police won't do any good, he would just bite one of them and break free." Jason said, taking his mask off which seemed to disappear as he touched it. Soon the mask was completely gone, and Jason returned to normal.

He began pacing back and forth, pondering what to do. As long as Jean remained alive he was a threat to everyone in Bright Grove. The easiest thing to do would be to kill him, but now that Jason wasn't wearing his mask, that idea was less appealing to him. He finally turned back to Oliver, completely ignoring Ace and Alex as they bickered, and began to speak.

"I believe the call is up to you since you've always done whats right in the past. By the way, how have the other Renegades been doing? I've had limited contact with anyone since me and Rachel moved out here." Jason said, wanting to know how the islands reconstruction was going along.

"Exactly, we should take him to the fuzz. Let them handle him, they'll probably put him in an asylem with all the other loons. Uh... Can someone other then me take him... He uh... Totally can't be taken by my board... Yeah." A hint of nervousness in his voice appeared as he fininshed the last sentance.

Hivemind payed the waitress and headed out. He looked out the door. "Let's see. What to do." He felt a strong pulse of energy and decided to follow it. Unfortunately the signal died out and he was left wandering in a dark alley way. "Dang! Lost the signal... Where could it have gone?" He felt a different sort of pulse. This one clearly mechanical. He raced towards it.

"We're doing fine, Jason." Oliver explained, glad to catch up a bit with his old friend. "We didn't manage to get most of the old guard back, but Gaz stuck around, and we've recruited a lot of the new heroes from the disaster."

"But back to the matter at hand, if we can't take him to the police we should either kill him or put him somewhere he can't be a problem to anyone. Preferably the latter."

"I don't think we should kill him... Why don't we tie him up then hand him to the fuzz? That way he can't kill them can he, so nobody gets hurt... Or killed... Again. Does anyone have any rope or stuff that can tie him up?" He searched under his board. "I've got nothing... I usually have an electrified net but I musta left it..." He passed Alex a phone. "It has my number, use it to contact me."

Hivemind rounded a corner to see two people talking and exchanging phone numbers. He trotted over waving. "Ummm... Hello. How are you two?" His voice came out rather awkward. The signal was really strong here. He looked around for whatever was causing the signal, he then noticed the board. Found ya!

The man in the dark hood still stood looking at the moon, he hadn't moved for the past 30 minutes, and had no plan on moving until it was ready. He glanced at his watch and a smile split his lips, "Everyone!" he called out, knowing that at least a few people would here him, "Start the machine!".

A fair few loud cheers came from the room behind him, and then heaps of scampering noises. He chuckled to himself lightly, "In a few more minutes I'll have finally won".

"Hello mate..." Ace flew over to Hivemind. "I'm Green Ace." He noticed him staring at the board. "This is my board, I made it myself completely. You'll find nothing else like it I assure you, unless someone copied it but then I'd take them to court because I patented this bueaty. Who are you?"

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Hivemind smiled pleasantly. "You can call me Hivemind. And trust me, its something else. Emits a really annoying frequency. But I can see you put a lot of hard work into it." He closed an eye. "Dang! I forgot to top off my energy. By the way what's it run on? Electric? Batteries?" He cocked his head and examined the board.

"Oliver if it was left to me I'd kill him. He's too dangerous to let live, then again... that's what we said about Amaranth and they let him live. Either way, the choice is yours Oliver, take him to the police if that's what you think is right." Jason said, "It is good that Renegades is prospering... I still can't believe what happened to Renegade. He seemed invincible..."

"Um... An extremely, emphisis on extremely, rare crystal. Privously it seemed to have no use for anything but I found one obviously. It emits a strange energy type that makes it fly and provides energy for the equipment on the board. That's probably why it makes that annoying noise and it's also the reason it emits this green stream of... You know I haven't worked what it is yet... Will do eventually though, I'm sure of it."

"I'd rather not talk about Renegade." Oliver said abruptly. Only years worth of repeated flarings of temper had managed to keep him from responding more heatedly.

"But yes, it's good that everyone is doing so well. The reason I brought up the other solution was in a hope that someone would figure out what to do with him. Guess that isn't working so well, though."

Hivemind laughed "Oh you shouldn't worry about me. The nano-bots just give my senses a different edge when it comes to technology. Looks like a useful item." He looked around and closed an eye. "Hud activate." He studied the emissions carefully. "Odd... a crystal?"
