"Whew. I was worried I'd have to get another." He carefully put the picture back in his wallet. "Pretty nice comps...Oh if you don't mind can I get an E-map? My Hud is still using last year's model."

"Yeah sure, just one second." He walked over to a computer and typed a few things in. "You want it installed into your laptop I take it?" He pressed a button and the latest E-map was downloaded onto the laptop.

"Actually no. Laptop can have the back-up. I need it installed up here." He tapped his head. He then walked over to his laptop flicked a few buttons and jammed his finger into what appeared to be a USB socket. He twitched violently as the screen flickered and a loading menu popped up. Once it was done he withdrew his finger and bit it. "Owww. That hurt. But I got the new maps! Thanks a bunch!"

"He has a point Oliver... I say we accept his offer, and then let him free afterwords. What harm could he cause if both of us are keeping an eye on him anyway?" Jason said, turning to look at Oliver.

Oliver sighed a bit and pinched his brow. After a few moments of thinking he said "Fine. We'll set him free and he'll stay with us. But I have a feeling this is going to go wrong, and if he tries anything we kill him."

Ace raised an eyebrow picked a device up, pointing it at Hive. "Huh, nanobots? Nice, I explorered nanobot technology with my pops once, it was a disaster so I scrapped it. Instead I worked on creating robots, which ended up creating that maid you saw upstairs and this." He pulled a cloth off something to reveal 10 battle robots. "I don't ever plan on using these, they're very deadly. I won't make any more, if they got in the wrong hands... Well I don't want to think about it..."

"Well I didn't have much of a choice about the nanobots. But suffice to say their how I got my parents so I'm content with them." Hivemind's eyes roved up and down the battle robots. "Seem a little top heavy..."

"Yep, but they are fast and deadly. Each one is the equivilent of 10 squads of elite soldiers easy if not more. They're cheaper then 10 squads too and take orders without question. Imagine if criminals or terrorists got hold of them. It'd be a disaster, so I keep them here. I orriginally built them so that people didn't need to risk their lives in war or battle, but then I realised just in time that it'd only cause more death." He put the cloth back over them. "Thats the thing with inventing things, especially weapons, you don't know what they're gonna be used for. So if like me you don't want death, you've gotta be careful who you give the inventions to, with them it'd be too risky to give them to anyone."

"Agreed. Well Jean, you can go get a drink, but I need to figure out who created these other black flames... that was the main reason I came out here in the first place. You wouldn't happen to know who made them would you?" Jason asked, turning to look at Jean again.

Jason knew that Rachel might be upset with him since he had left so abruptly and now planned to stay out late and find the source of the fires, but it was something he needed to do. Bright Grove was a town Jason had sworn to protect, and he wasn't about to let some new villain with black fire ruin everything he had worked so hard to protect.

"Do you want to help find who was responsible for these fires Oliver, or did you have something else pressing you needed to do?" Jason asked, thinking about what he might come across that could cause this much devastation.

"That would definitely be a problem if they would fall into the wrong hands. And personally I'd like to avoid killing or even violence as much as possible too. But when push comes to shove..." He swung down his arm and a large metalic blade started emerging from the back of his wrist. "I'm perfectly capable of defending myself." He flexed his fingers and the blade dematerialized. His stomach growled loudly. "Oh...umm... do you have any food?"
Didn't get much sleep so I'm turning in early for the night.

Oliver held up a finger to indicate that he needed a moment. He walked away from the others, muttering something into his visor. A minute later, he returned.

"All right," he said to Jean "you're on the Renegades' radar now. Feel free to go grab a drink, but if we catch wind of you acting up you'll have a kill team breathing down your neck before you can even skip town."

Oliver turned to Jason then, and said "I've got some free time, so yeah I'll help you track the guy down. Should be more interesting than whatever's going on back home anyway."

"Alright, so lets take to the sky... we'll probably get a better view from up there anyway." Jason said, letting wings grow from his shoulder-blades, and taking off into the sky. He waited for Oliver to rise up before setting off as well.

Thats it for me tonight.

"I'm sure. Just stay out of trouble."

Oliver flew up to meet Jason in the air as well, deciding that he would let him take the lead.

And that's it for me. Goodnight.

Rachel sighed as Jason left the house. "He's going to get himself killed one of these days..." She said, heading back upstairs to grab her jacket. "If Jason is going to be gone for a while longer... might as well look for more work." She said, taking out her laptop off her nightstand. She opened it up and waited for it to boot up. After it had finished, she checked a few websites, her email, and closed the laptop again. "Nothing." She said, putting the computer back. She laid down on the bed and went back to randomly searching through channels on the television, waiting for Jason to return for a second time.

No... its a bit late for a direct mind-to-mind conversation... but you could leave a lingering message in Magus's head.

Magus's head snapped back, he opened his eyes, and he looked up to see Umbra standing over him, he caught the baton before she could hit him with it in an attempt to wake him up.

"I'm out," Magus blurted out, "I'm back. Now..." Magus allowed Umbra to help him get back on his feet, "You said something about gunfire?"

Umbra helped Magus up, keeping a grip on the baton. "I heard gunshots outside a few minutes ago; it's stopped now, but I've got no idea what was going on out there." Umbra looked over to the knight, who still appeared to be unconscious from the ritual; perhaps it took more out of the host.

"What did you find in there? Anything useful?"
