PM me if you need some help. I am already fluent in Japanese. I can reccommend a lot of materials, but I am not sure if they are avaiable in the UK are not.
Minna no Nihongo (books one two three available)
Apart from these, just some kind of writing book so you can practice writing hiragana, katakana and kanji.
If you write in Japanese, I will respond back in Japanese and English, then correct your mistakes. Romaji is okay because not all computers can read Japanese characters.
Correction: it is oshie `ru` no ga ?³?¦?é??ª
oshie `ra` no ga, makes no sense
suisen `ga` dekinai- Try your best to remember your particles when typing in Japanese. You can drop them is speech but not in writing.
It is okay, anyone can make a mistake, especially in Japanese. Keep up the good work, you are doing fine. I think we learn best from our mistakes anyway. Where did you study in Japan?
What you are saying right now is, `I am sorry but I cannot really make any reccommendations for teaching Japanese` But it seems that, what you wanted to say was, `I cannot really reccommend learning Japanese here` or something similar
`Sumimasen ga, boku wa nihonngo wo narau(learn)/bennkyou suru(study)/shuutoku suru(aquire)/renshuu suru(practice) koto ni wa/no ga intanetto de/koko de suisen ga dekinai
However, a much more natural expression would be
intanetto de, nihongo wo naratte ha ikenai (I do not really think that you should learn Japanese over the internet/You should not use the internet to learn Japanese)
Plus you are right in saying that verb-suru, does not always need a particle (only when it is the object of the sentance) but with DEKIRU you need `ga`

Yokohama National University. I miss it, too...at least, I will in a couple months when I'm absolutely certain the heat and humidity will have gone down.

Darn. I was actually shooting for "I can't recommend teaching Japanese here, in this place" (in hindsight, a stupid thing to say). This forum, not the internet in general.
EDIT: Good god, I've seen at least three or four interpretations of what I said. I was really off!
Plus you are right in saying that verb-suru, does not always need a particle (only when it is the object of the sentence) but with DEKIRU you need `ga`
He does teach japanese in his younger days. according to what I heard, He went angry after the war. Back then, their way of "teaching" sometimes involve breaking several child protection laws of America. Well, atleast to their own grand children.. = =;
I am studying japanese allready on hugh school but if you had posted this a few months ago Ill be pretty: OMG OMG OMG!!! right now XD
lets see how far youll draw this rock.
Also you might have noticed some oddities in the alphabet. Like Ta Chi Tsu Te To. When you add " (I learned to call them DenDens which is the equivalent of a child asking for wawa instead of water. if someone knows what they are really called, that'd be cool.)

Question 3 - listen to the sounds, then write them in English and hiragana.

Answer Key
Please do not look at these until you are absolutely sure you are done. Cheating only cheats you out of an education. And cheating on this seems kinda stupid since its a "I'm learning Japanese, lets learn together" thread.
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS! Do this in notepad or on paper, and then check the key. Posting your answers will ruin everyone else's chance to learn. If you really want me to check your work, do it in a spoiler please.
Also you can study with this handy website, http://studykana.com/
Do it whenever you have a couple minutes to burn. Every bit helps.
Also I understand that I am not a teacher and do not know Japanese fluently and this is a gamer website, but learning in a group will make us all get better. Anyone who is fluent in Japanese could help us all along by correcting my mistakes and other peoples' too. So far this is going along swimmingly.
AND! If you can't view Japanese characters, here is how...
Vista Business = Should be able to by default
Vista Ultimate = Have to download the language pack through Windows Update.
Vista Home = I have no real idea, I haven't used Home.
XP any = Select language you want to install from Region Settings or whatever and install. Note you have to have your disc. If that doesn't work, I'm sorry but you gotta use google.
Drow elvish? I didn't even know there were different kinds of elvish. Then again, LotR is all I know of it existing, as there was a strict "no [mary sue] half-elves/eleves/dragons/etc" policy in my tabletop group. I could see how it's something that could do with some looking up.

Luckily, a society that can't take over the world because they're too busy killing each other doesn't really produce more than one or two Mary Sues, and the most well-known one isn't (except in fan misinterpretation).
Study tips for the first 5 Hiragana!
Besides using flash cards, a good way to learn a different alphabet is to somehow associate it with your own. Here are my associations with the 5 vowels.
(Since the quiz is right there, its a spoiler )
あ = its the first one I learned and its the first letter of the alphabet.
い = its like you took an I and split it down the middle, tore it in half.
う = its a rotated u.
え = when I first started learning, I divided the hiragana into their natural groups. So if you showed me a bunch, I could tell you which ones were with each other in the alphabet (like how you are learning it now). I'd always forget this one and then say "A I U E! It's E!"
お = sorta looks like an O
These are my abstract ways of recognizing them, I encourage everyone to try and make your own associations and, if you have trouble, read mine. Eventually, you will stop converting them in your head and you'll recognize them on the spot.
