I started hating him the instant I saw an interview where he said he didn't know what the word "German" means (and his surname "Bieber" actually means "beaver" in German). He's culturally illiterate.

He actually does have a bit of talent, and he's a YouTube celebrity, meaning he showed some talent and the fame came free.

I am completely neutral towards him, I even feel a bit of pity for the guy.

Alot of celebrity hate comes from jealousy. Though, I just dont like his music, not him as a person. I've stopped hating the singer because of his/her music or looks a long time ago. I honestly find it annoying when people announce their hate for some singer because of their dislike of the music or the way they look.

I hate him because I used to work for a magazine distributor, and I had to stare at his face for anywhere from 8 to 14 hours a day. He'd be on anywhere from five to eight covers, him and thw twilight crew and whatever kid the teen girls are swooning over. Honestly, I can't stand any of them, and I don't care enough to hate on them, but when I had to stare at them all. day. long. it got old, real fast. AND then they all got into the scandals involving these people and other magazines picked it up, and it was just too much. Utter hate. For him and all celebrities. Most of them are worthless humans anyway.

I feel the same towards twilight. A great book in theory(Vampire Civil War while werevolves attack and its up to one girl to stop the madness) but bland...every character minus Alice lacks a personality.

I literally wasn't even aware of this guy until he came up as a topic on The Escapist. I kind of wish that he could be allowed to return to obscurity on his own merits or lack thereof as people see fit. Not because I harbor him any ill will (or any will of any sort), but because to me, passionate discourse on him in any form is a little like witnessing angry arguments or pointed debate on, say, curling or caber tossing. It's only vexing that anyone can be bothered to care.

He represents this phenomenon completely, so I say that it's time for an end to the terrible world of pop culture. Well, the raid on Youtube on all of Bieber's videos was a bit much.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that most of his horrific songs are from producers who are looking to rake in the dough, and he has no creative control. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this was true. However, he still goes along with it and his voice is really obnoxious. He is also a really good representation of what a lot of people hate in pop music these days, so he's an easy target.

I just avoid listening to him when possible. If there's a DJ around... I cover my ears.

The youtube raid wasn't targeting bieber, it was targeting his fans.
