Maybe a re-write but with more open stuff and with vampires and werewolves, which also fight each other?
Maybe set in the future or past?
Maybe just some DC, so we can have cel shading/watercolor/cartoony?
Or prehaps add phong shading?

Oh, man, I had the greatest L4D idea last night while I was passing out. The Mod SOMEONE needs to make.

Left 4 Dead: Las Vegas.

Zombie. Elvis.

I am afraid that there will not be an DLC for the xbox version. The back of the box dosen't say that there will be any. That is very uncharacteristicaly Valve though. Also, I would kill to see some kind of online ranking or leaderboards... what the hell?

Valve has said they'll try real hard to get DLC in, but they give out their DLC for free and Microsoft insists on charging. Personally I think Valves solution should've been to sell the required amounts of Microsoft points to download the DLC along with the game.

Fuck you! I was going to say that. Damn it.
Fuck YOU! I was going to say THAT! Damn it.

They 8 Brains? Fuck that shit.

If they do make a sequel, let's have more characters, and perhaps unique but not necessary skills. And the random city generator is a nice idea, I guess, but it would be hard to make a clear route without development. I think the levels are good at the moment, whilst there are always options, it's generally pretty clear where to go. Places I am lost in always seem to be where the witch is, though. I get so scared running around, not knowing where the witch is but able to hear her, and not knowing where to go, either.

Other good shouts by people are for defensive modes; making yourself proper barricades and then having them smashed by the Tank would be hella sweet. Imagine having to defend a room from waves and waves of horde with a witch in the next room, knowing that you can't fall back or she'll rip you to shreds.

Also, they should make the witch slightly different, or have two types of witch. The new witch, or all witches, should be unkillable. They attack and attack whoever startles them and rips them to pieces, then go back to crying. This would allow for some nice heroic sacrifices. Although I did sacrifice myself to a witch to allow my team-mates to go on in the Death Toll town. They rounded a corner, running for the safe house and got mullered by a Tank. I could literally write about L4D all night.

I'm pretty sure they do have bosses, they're called tanks... I think smokers, boomers and hunters are techinally boss zombies but tanks are big enough bosses for me, anything tougher then those bastards would be retardedly brutal.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this about the screamers (guess no one listens to the developers' commentary anymore), they originally were zombies that foamed at the mouth and were bound in a straitjacket and when players got close enough to him he would run away screaming and players had to chase him down because as he passed the common zombies screaming they would rush the players. The problem they found with this is that players often didn't notice him and in certain areas a screamer could essentially run on forever and the players would never catch him and just get swarmed to death. His role was merged into the boomer.

Some changes I'd like to see though, is randomly generated areas or alternate paths. Alternate paths do somewhat exist, for example in the first area of No Mercy you don't have to charge down the street to the saferoom, you can go around the alley, but the problem is that there is no point to do this, because its longer and there are never extra things back there.
Definitely would like the other campaigns available in VS mode. I'd also like to see more interesting events like the Chapel in Death Toll.

Also I think it would've been interesting if they made each of the survivors unique, ie Zoey gets bonus to pistols etc, or they through it other elements like in RE:Outbreak where a character has to pick a lock while teammates defend him/her. Or some more unique encounters, like in the subway they could've made it that the survivors get on one of the trains and have it move down the tracks as zombies come breaking through the windows or holes in the roof.

I'd have to say addition of new characters, but instead of just what character you thought looks the coolest or whatever, have each character have a special skill. Like some guy is good with shotguns, one is good with pistols, a guy who is good at melee( with addition of melee), one has higher health, one who has high staminia( with the addition of a sprint) so it has even more strategy to it. And maybe on each level, add one section were you are in a large area, like a supermarket, and have to set up barricades, and defend, while others on your team look for a safe way out of the area.

See, I'd like to see a level where the zombies are smarter and you have to hold ground. Like the Antlion level in hl2:episode two, where it just isn't possible to hold them off after a certain amount of time. The zombies test the defenses and continue until they finally find a weakspot in your defenses and if they manage to get in...you die.

Survival horror, except you die at the end and its all about how long to manage to stay alive.

I like stories in games, so I'd push for a bit more immersive story.

Of course, for the people who just want to get to the slaughter, make them able to skip them and get right to the horde.

I'd also add a few more special zombie types, screamers for example, that looks like regular ones but if shot starts screaming like crazy, calling in a lot more zombies to their location.
they thought about doing this. the screamer would waer a staight-jacket and would run and hide in a corner when shot and then start screaming but the got rid of the idea and gave the ability to atract zombies to the Boomer

Personally i would hate to see melee weapons. Why use a baseball bat when you have a shotgun? The game clearly wasn't designed to be scary, just fun. Plus, if you've got 20 odd zombies scratching your face off, do you really want to have to slash at them with a fruit knife?

Ah right. The box says nothing about future DLC so there won't be any.

Nice research sir!

I'd be happy if they just added some kind of story instead of this movie thing. If they had more cutscenes besides the opening one (Which was great) and a story progression then it would make the game so much better for me. Also, I agree, since I bought it for the 360 I want more maps and the addition of real bosses would be awesome, Also more weapons if they can think of some good ones. And finally, it would be great if they could have different objectives besides traveling from point a to point b.

no offense but when buying Valve game i recommend getting them on PC. the customer service and updates are better. they can be modded and the multiplayer community is a lot better.

so turn it into World of Darkness basically? or Underworld with zombies? Well if we are going to be turning it into a zombie apocalypse but set in the world of darkness then that means the survivors all suddenly become imbued! Wait, that would be sweet although possibly broken. Spiral edge anyone!
In all seriousness I like the idea of more types, although the tanks are boss enough for me. I like the melee idea. Teach a hunter or smoker why they shouldn't pounce or sling tongues at you! Of course that also removes the some of the teamwork aspect as you would no longer need your teammates to save you against said creature.
