Well, I grabbed my mail today and was excited to see a new GameInformer in the box. While flipping through, I noticed a small article about Valve announcing Left 4 Dead: 3.

I'm usually not one to bring this kind of thing up, but this is for all of you Valve fans out there. You are no longer allowed to, rightfully, gripe and complain about how Halo, CoD, and Final Fantasy are "milked" franchises. Left 4 Dead is on its third installment now and it has been... what? Hardly a year and a half?

So, I ask you, what do you think of this? Is Valve wrong in releasing yet another Left 4 Dead game? Especially after the oh so successful *cough cough* petition and boycott of the previous game.

Thoughts?
Did you actually read the article? LOL. Or the one about Mass Effect 3 letting you import any character from any game ever? Or the Darksiders sequel where you get to run around in a Super Monkeyball? It is an APRIL issue!
April issue in march?
Yes. You always get the next months issue the month before. It's an April Fools article! Hell the page before states that everything after is a parody. And the articles alone are ridiculous. Did you know, according to the article they are going to release L4D3 alongside L4D4?! LOL
Wow, I'm honestly surprised at all the people who don't get that next month's magazine is usually released this month, you know, so that all the "upcoming" news will actually be upcoming. Also, I makes me laugh that so many people didn't notice that it was in the April issue's Game Infarcer section. Calm down, all you people who are up in arms, it was a joke.

First off, Valve has different development teams. L4D team are not the same as the HL team. They are not connected, so you can't really complain about episode 3 in regards to this.

Secondly, maybe this is a joke, but even if it is true, I say excellent. People complain about sequels too much. Certainly innovation is the lifeblood that pushes the medium forward, but its ITERATION, that is, refinement of a product over several cycles of creation, playing, and alteration, that creates the more enjoyable play experiences. L4D 3 will once again sacrifice some of the freshness of the zombie shooting experience L4D offered, in exchange for a more high quality, polished experience. And that's fine. Don't harass people trying to make the best game they can while your also asking for more innovation. Just speak with your money (Or lack thereof_

L4D2 is fine - it requires NO sequal or expansion. Be careful valve, too much of this sequal shit gets EA in debt

(Sigh).....no....I love this game but no....it needs to die now. Any more additions will only make the game imbalanced and ruin it. Just back away from the computer developers...back away...

I think they need to re-invent the expansion pack which I think has been rebranded as DLC

Why, do they have to keep fucking about with these bullshit sequels, when they could be doing Episode 3?!
They don't just have 1 team working on 1 game. Hense why they are now making Portal 2 AND Left 4 Dead 3. They most likely have a team working on episode 3 in secret. Or hell, maybe just Half Life 3.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Hands. Whatever.

Enough L4D Valve, we want to kill the Advisor.

Do you not see the irony here?

But I agree, somewhat. It has been a long time, and by the time Ep 3 ships, I'm willing to bet a lot of interest may have waned. However, isn't it better that Valve work on something they WANT to do rather than something that they feel they are surely by now owed? We were all sceptical of Left 4 Dead 2, but that turned out brilliantly, actually surpassing the prequel without making it totally redundant.

Not sure how far I believe Game Informer.

I couldn't care less about first 2 so I don't care if they make a 100 more. Are those games supposed to be scary? Cause they ain't scary or fun. And I tried to play it in co-op, still no fun. Killing enemies with no weapons that are only supposed to be scary ain't my idea of a good game.

April Fools jokes in march are the best kind...

OT: If they were really in the process of makeing L4D3 i wouden't be that annoyed buy mayby it's becuase i'm a massive Valve fanboy....

Also, this remindes me of something funny i heard over XBL:

"L4D is going to become the new madden, there going to release one every year."

EDIT: Well... Turns out it was an April Fools joke... In March.
Oh.. egg on your face. You can still complain about L4D being milked if you really want to, haha.
