Cockoladoody if you want a more traditional shooter.

L4d i am having an absolute blast with-- but i play with real life friends, and don't queue for games with strangers. Its best served with cooperative, competitive versus mode is fun, but thats not where i get my jollies.

Game will expand massively in the future when the dev. kit gets released this jan.

I have the game I think it really awesome as a matter of fact its one of my favorite games next to half life 2 and Legend of Zelda. There isn't much as far story goes it just make from point a to point to b and don't die. What makes it this really awesome is the intensity. This game is truly survival horror cause you must depend on your teammates to survive unless your playing on normal. Normal mode isn't quit that difficult but it can get pretty rough at times. Plus it just awesome to play with friends.

I've asked 4 Left 4 Dead 4 Christmas...ok, I'll stop with the numbers. I really want to find a group of people I can play together with, as I don't trust the average multiplayer not to run off like a twat, thinking they're Master Chief and the zombies are the Covenant to die en masse 'neath his Power of Retard, followed by verbose cursing when he founds out that he actually sucks.
What I'm looking for is, like hopefully most sane people, a tight-knit group, possibly with Skype or other such voice connections to form a group looking to win and at the same time, have Fun, which should take precedence, even at the expense of winning.
Damn, that sounds like a dating entry, almost.

Just add a line long walks on the beach or candle light dinners and send it off to a dating website.

Id say get L$D. I just played the demo and had a great time. Although im getting both games for christmas. YAY!!!

Also, what is the music like in Left 4 Dead? I hope they included the song Graveyard, by Mest, but it's such an obscure band that there's little hope of that. Still, it would be incredibly fitting for it.

Great Game.
Not much of a story.
Great online play .
But overall its far to short.
But definatly a laugh if your online with your friends.
Not one of them games where one person can just fight everything for you, it involves actual team work to get through in one peice which is one of its best factors.

Even though it is quite short its one of those games you can play over and over and it can still be fun. I can imagine them briging out updates soon anywho.

Why not just play the demo?
Demo was removed after the game went live, I wanted to try it before buying but noticed this.

Don't double post, and you don;t notive the music at all in the game aside from when it changes to announce incomming zombies/tank/witch.

Also, use the search function, there have been a number of L4D threads from what I recall.

Sorry, didn't mean to double post. Just didn't want to lose the thread. Also the search function never seems to work for me.

If you're looking for online fun Left 4 Dead is great and unique.

The average length of an expert map play through, end to end, is normally about 1 and half hours ranging to two plus. I find that the time flies past as you battle and die as a team. I've had the biggest and most genuine online laughs playing Left 4 Dead.

The director will always guarantee that the replay's aren't boring too.

There are some tips though:

1. If you're not playing with people you know in real life, play on expert. It forces people to play together much more than the idiots on normal mode.

2. Have a headset and use it properly. Kids who sing down the mic get kicked before they reach their second stanza.

3. Team work stops the moment the rescue vehicle arrives!

NO! Stop, play on advanced until you learn the game, Then play on expert.
Way too many people play expert without a clue and it really shits me ><

After like one run through on each on normal to get the achievement I'd say you're ready.

For a multiplayer game Left4dead gets both thumbs up!
In my opinion the game play is hilarious. This is a game that needs to be played online though, preferably with people you know
I usually play this game with friends while talking on Skype
The single player mode is alright and all, its just NOTHING compared to online

To answer your first question, if you're looking for a Multiplayer game then go for Left4dead, but if you're looking for a singleplayer game then go for Cod5

If you have friends/family who have it and will play with you then go for L4D, COD5 is void of decent online co-op.
