I have absolutely no problem with a lesbian relationship. However I didn't see a romance coming on and I don't like how they just dropped it on the viewers at the end. I know that you can say that the letters and the blushing were signs that they were flirting romantically but I feel like those signs aren't enough for me to be convinced of a romance (taking care of one of your best friends is a sign of romance now I guess), but I do see a love. They clearly do love each other but I feel like it is more of a sisterly love and that they would do anything for each other like Mako would do for Korra. The big difference between Mako and Asami however is that she can relate to Korra and be her confident when things are hard and vise versa. So that is my view on their relationship I do think that they love each other just in platonic, sisterly way.

Well this season, like the others was a magnificent clusterfu**.....
But to be honest.... i'm kinda glad it ended like this, i kept thinking, kiss kiss kiss!!!! But they can't show THAT on a kid's show. Good for them. Screw Mako for leaving both, and YOU GO BOLIN!!!! YOU WERE THE MOST MAGNIFICENT CHARACTER AND IN MY OPINION THE MOST POWERFULL/ COOL!!!

I find the disbelievers and nay-sayers hilarious. Not because of homophobia or anything. Just that some would rather see Korra or Asami end with Mako for some reason.
I'm glad Mako ended with neither of them. They were both too good for him and he has the emotional weight of a brick. He's a boring character who gets a couple of cool scenes throughout the series and that's it. He's the Cyclops of this X-Men team. And if you have a friend who likes Cyclops, you sir have a bad friend.

Yeah... with the subtle as a sledgehammer teases in Books 3 & 4, I'm not surprised. The Varrik and Zhu Li sudden relationship and marriage however... yeah, these come off to me as if due to budget cuts they handed the writing of these character interactions over to Tumblr.

My point is that the people in charge of the ones I ship are obviously on the same page as me. I never seem to understand any of the ridiculous ships like Zuko and Katara or Sokka and Toph, and those are also the ones that never happen.

Yeah, but none of that is anything new to the series; there was no reason to expect anything different for the finale (save for, of course, the Korrasami because fuck yeah). I share your frustrations and sympathize, but the moment I stopped expecting anything from the series was the moment I started enjoying what few things it did right.
