I've followed this game for a bit and watch the friday fight nights on Gametrailers every week to see how the characters play and whatnot. I really wish this would also come to PC, or hell even Vita. There are a few deign decisions I'm not that fond of, but I need to actually play it to see how it all gels.

From what I have seen of the game and character descriptions (technical stuff, not back story), I'm most likely maining Ms Fortune and subbing Valentine based on the technical info revealed the other day.

Fortune looks right for me, very agile with nice balanced damage and normals. And the dismemberment thing looks like it can be used as some form of spacing and mix-up from what I've seen.

I prefer function over form, thus I base my character selection on how well they play to accommodation my utilization of the game mechanics. None of this aesthetic nonsense most people prioritize over...although it is a plus when your character also happens to have a good design.

Noooooooooooooooooo! That cannot be!

Oh well, I still have Peacock. And Bloody Marie will be one hell of a badass final boss.
I'm bummed too. Her design is so cool. Well, there are other choices.

This. Do you consider, say, porn sexist?
Most porn is sexist. And the porn industry is general is incredibly sexist.

I swear if the Escapist is going to be this way about sexualization I'm going to turn this into /v/ and start talking about waifus and hasubandos.

Now let's move on, this thread was created to talk about something other than the sexualization issue, was it not? Surely that's not the only thing worth talk about about the game right now, is "Killing Children" round 2.
...B-But...I call my fiancee 'waifu' and she calls me 'husbando'. ;-;

Anyway...yeah. =x This thread was kind of specifically to get away from looking at how sexualized the game is or isn't and looking more at the game itself.

I find the art style, characters design (empowered women) and the animation appealing compare to the Japanese fighting games like Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, Dead or Alive and etc.

It's quite a welcome change of things since excluding Mortal Kombat there haven't that many successful fighting game that didn't originate from Japan.

Hmm, looking at Bloody Maries artwork gives me a Zappa (Guilty Gear) vibe. Be interesting to see a character that plays like that. Make for an interesting boss character with the ability to summon spirits and just cluster fuck the opponent with ghosts and other apparitions for deadly pressure and mix-ups.

I agree. The West needs to make more fighting games.

Except not quite as androgynous I would gander. I'm also kind of reminded of a short haired Matsurika of Maria Holic. Love that ":<".

Gosh, arguing is too popular. This thread died. While the threads related to sexism still live.

Looks alright I guess, however maybe I'm missing something since everyone else seems to like the idea but that Bloody Marie one is just tasteless. I mean really...

It looks like a typical moe in a maid outfit to me.

I like hwo it looks, and reminds me of the world ends with you. Honestly, I'd pick up and play the game, cause it sounds fun and quirky enough.

I find the art design literally nausiating, aside from that I find something about the giant tits annoying. I mean I get having someone like Mai in KOF being the "titty character" but all of them having racks ranging from big to huge? I-just-that's, can't we have a skull girl with a reasonably sized chest?
...=x The only Skull Girl is Bloody Marie, and she's flat as a board.

So is Peacock. Filia and Painwheel aren't that big either.

Edit: Neither is Ms. Fortune. She just shows more underboob than is necessary.

So, Kopikatsu, where are you finding the ages of the characters? And can you list all of them? I'm curious about this.

In the character bios. Also, Bloody Marie isn't there. It looks like she won't be playable after all.
