im loving "nite klub" by the specials for old school

but my favourite band by far is Less than Jake

prob "science of selling yourself short", "Scott farcas takes it on the chin" or "nervous in the alley"

basically the whole of the album hello rockview is the pinnacle of 90s/2000s ska in my opinion... and i have albums by pretty much everyone else on this thread. streetlight are also epic.

ooh. one more thing. if you arent from the uk and havent heard of imperial leisure then listen to them... RAP SKA!

I can't believe this thread was made the day I went on a ska rampage! Literally all day I have put on a playlist of ska and have been skanking like a madman while cleaning my house.

Some of you old school ska purists need to lighten up. I'm sure the zillion obscure bands you listen to are freaking awesome, but that doesn't mean that the third and fourth wave ska that the new ska kids like isn't just as good. I'd like to learn more about the roots of ska so I'll check out some of those old bands but I'm all about the newer stuff and by god The Aquabats! I 'acquired' their discography recently and its super rad.

Also, to provoke you old school ska purists even more, early No Doubt was actually a really good band. Even as they turned a bit more mainstream they still put out some good stuff, Spiderwebs is one of my favourite songs.
