So, I updated the opening post with the information for the New Vegas LP. The sooner you can post back on that the better.

When the first update will actually be posted, I don't really know.

Wooohooo!

*ahem*

Name - Not fussed. However, it would be cool to have your Legion playthrough feature a character with a Latin name.

Gender - Not fussed. However, for the sake of showing off as much as possible, it would be best to make a bisexual style character (Confirmed Bachelor, Cherchez La Femme, Lady Killer, Black Widow).

Karma/Alignment - Hey this is New Vegas, karma doesn't matter. As for alignment, well aren't you going to show all of them? Unless you're asking for the order.

Tagged Skills - If you're going to create different characters this should change, but I think speech should always be important.

Traits - Kamikaze!!! Nah, do whatever fits the character.

As for SPECIAL, not fussed depending on the character. However, a good INT and PER is essential for Dead Money.

-------

It really depends on which character you plan on doing first.

Well, I certainly will be having a good karma character on one of the playthroughs, but I'm just asking what kind of character you want to see now.

ChupathingyX said:
We're definitely doing Independant first. By alignment I meant the basic D&D style alignment, in case you wanted an alternative.

And your karma does effect the epilogue, but yeah, much less significant than Fallout 3. Just the general disposition of the character is really all I'm asking for.

Ahh well in that case then maybe since we're going with Yes Man then maybe you should make a neutral, leaning towards good, type character. A person who doesn't really care for much, but there are certain things that tick him/her off.

I'll keep it simple: A guy named Augustus who has neutral-to-good karma and focuses on guns. As for perks and stuff like that... dunno

I think we should save the Latin names for the Legion playthrough.

Let's go with a neutral or chaotic good character, which makes sense for an Independent Vegas playthrough. With all the DLC and heavy XP rewards for completing quests, I don't think a high Intelligence stat is all that important unless that's really the kind of character you want. Besides that, there many more other attribute/skill checks in this game than in Fallout 3. I'd say to do this:
S: 4
P: 7
E: 4
C: 4
I: 6
A: 8
L: 7

Traits: Four Eyes, Wild Wasteland (duh)

Gender: Man. A man with a beard.

Name: No suggestion here. I'd go with Kurt. But I name almost all of my male characters Kurt (after Kurt Vonnegut).

Tagged Skills:
-Guns (boring choice, but some of the guns have a nice story behind them. So I guess that's better for LP purposes)

-Repair (Jury-Rigging is just wonderful)

-Speech

Other skills to focus on early:

-Survival: You might think I'm crazy, but level up Survival instead of Medicine for your healing choice. If you take the perk Them's Good Eatin', you'll have a ridiculous amount of Blood Sausage and Thin Red Paste. They are valuable items (you'll have more than enough to sell and still be able to use) and provide a good bit of healing over time. You'll still have stimpacks when you need them in combat.

-Lockpicking/Science: Either one is good for looting. Lockpicking will come up more, but Science also shows up in a number of skill checks. I don't like to have both, though.

Looking forward to this.

YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Looking foward to this since the beggining of Broken Steel. Character sujjestion:

Name: Augustus

S:6
P:5
E:5
C:6
I:9
A:4
L:6

Traits: Wild Wasteland (it´s almost mandatory) and Heavy handed.

Gender: Male, of course
Karma and affiliation: Good, with a tendency for evil (when NPC´s start to piss you of) and NCR (just to be ironic).

Tagged skills:
-Science/Medicine
-Speech
-Guns

Speech is really useful now, and I would like to see a Guns specialized character, but civil and smart.

Best first perk: Intense Training to max Int.

Best skills to develop first:

Medicine and lockpick.

Can´t wait to LP. Good luck.

Character details are in bold in the quote.

Ryan used to work as a doctor in New Reno, sweet talking chems from the addicts he treated and then selling them on, he made a nice bit of money for himself. Then Mr Bishop came knocking on his door looking to get in a piece of the action to try and contend with he Wrights a bit; and by piece of the action, I of course mean take complete control and seize all profits. Ryan, unable to fight Bishop's goons gave in and, after a few weeks, fled New Reno. Now in desperate need of caps, Ryan took a job with the Mojave Express with the intention of making enough money to get into New Vegas and starting the same operation he had in New Reno, but you know what they say about the best plans.

[HEADING=1] The Story of Jerry Stowley [/HEADING]

So dirty metal holes and towns built around the messengers of war were crossed of the list so obviously my next choice was a giant aircraft carrier. Seriously the towns in the wasteland are freaking weird. Anyway my journey there was an eventful one. I decided I would travel with the merchant for a while untill I learned that he was a dumbass. You see I didn't know the map of the Capital Wasteland of by heart but I was fairly sure we were heading the wrong way when we reached the Republic of Dave. The name is odd really as there is no republic there anymore. A bunch of deathclaws left Old Olney and headed west and it was a big group to. I think it was somewhere between 10 and 15 and well they got hungry along the way. As you may recall I have already told of the infamous three deathclaws who were the same old Yao Gui and Molerats. No these deathclaws wanted something they hadn't tasted in a long time. Human Flesh. I think you know the rest. So eventually I found a nomad who traded directions for Purified water which isn't incredibly hard to get but oh well. So I headed south and soon learned that Rivet city was overpopulated and was struggling with diseases and food rations. I did however find the famous Pinkerton, the savoiur of the android who became Harkness. Anyway he let me stay in his "home" while we figured out a where to put me.

Anyways I doubt anyone has missed me but in any case I still haven't had time to write this but I should be able to write more now. Hopefully. [sub] Damn you school.[/sub] Also I look forward to the New Vegas Lets play.

I will choose to believe that you are doing an independent run because you were swayed by my mind-blowingly awesome political commentaries on the NV factions in which I chose independant as the best.

Anyway...

Name: Mark
Gender: Male
Karma/Alignment: good (same as last time but it makes more sense than evil in almost every situation)
Tagged Skills: guns, speech, barter
Traits: wild wasteland (Not all of the other ones are bad, but generally I never thought the effects were worth it, and even when they were the traits just didn't suit my play style.)
S-6
P-7
E-7
C-7
I-5
A-5
L-3

I figure this is a pretty blank slate type character suited for quite a few different play styles, plus I'm just too drained to come up with a characterized version right now.

BY THE WAY EVERYONE: I know you're all probably thinking I forgot about my Lessons, but I haven't. My problem is that I have just gotten back from a 1 week vacation which I spent with my family (because I go to boarding school away from home), and before that I was being worked like I was the only mule at the farm for 3 straight weeks. Now I have mid-terms coming up so I might get the lesson I've been meaning to do submitted for your viewing pleasure some time in the next two weeks, and I might not. Sorry to those of you that actually enjoy them (by the way, if you do enjoy them and hope that I get another one in sometime around December, please let me know. I will try harder to find time if you encourage me.)

I fully understand. I'm going to be going away to Florida soon with my father, and I really want to get another installment in my LP done, but I'm, still waiting to hear back from the company who's software I'm using.

And yes. I enjoy your lessons. I find them enlightening, my friend. I hope to see more as soon as you're able to make them.

[HEADING=1]Intro - Shoot the Messenger[/HEADING]
Opening

I really love this game's opening cinematic, it sets the scene really quite well.

The scene pans out pretty much the entire time, to almost a ridiculous length. I wouldn't be surprised if it just continued to pan out and didn't stop.

This also shows off the strip quite well, though everything is not consistant with the game...

Mainly the lack of the big fuck-off wall in the middle of the Strip, splitting it into two.

This guy's armor right here, advertised on the front cover. Pretty cool looking, eh? It's a ***** to get in the vanilla game without straight up murdering these guys and taking their stuff. And even then, it's faction armor, which is kind of a pain by itself.

The DLC fixed that though.

He has an anti-material rifle equipped. Overkill for anything that's not a deathclaw...

And that guy certainly wasn't a deathclaw.

Even further back is Caesar's Legion, spying on the city for some reason. Patrolling the Mojave must be that boring.

Phew, the camera is finally done panning. Wait, who are these guys?

And then, just like that, Ron Perlman starts his narration.

"War. War never changes. When atomic fire consumed the earth, those who survived did so in great, underground vaults."

"When they opened, their inhabitants set out across ruins of the old world to build new societies, establish new villages, form new tribes."

"As decades passed, what had been the American southwest united beneath the flag of the New California Republic, dedicated to old-world values of democracy and the rule of law.

"As the Republic grew, so did its needs. Scouts spread east, seeking territory and wealth, in the dry and merciless expanse of the Mojave Desert."

"They returned with tales of a city untouched by the warheads that had scorched the rest of the world, and a great wall spanning the Colorado River."

"The NCR mobilized its army and set it east to occupy the Hoover Dam, and restore it to working condition."

"But across the Colorado, another society had arisen under a different flag. A vast army of slaves, forged in the conquest of 86 tribes: Caesar's Legion."

"Four years have passed since the Republic held the Dam - just barely - against the Legion's onslaught."

"The Legion did not retreat. Across the river, they gathered strength. Campfires burned, training drums beat."

"Through it all, the New Vegas Strip has stayed open for business under the control of its mysterious overseer, Mr. House, and his army of rehabilitated Tribals and police robots."

"You are a courier, hired by the Mojave Express, to deliver a package to the New Vegas Strip."

"What seemed like a simple delivery job has taken a turn?for the worse."

It's never a simple package delivery...

"You got whatchu were after, so pay up."

"You're crying in the rain, paley."

"Guess who's waking up over here?"

Oh shit.

"Time to cash out."

"Would you get it over with."

"Maybe Khans kill people without looking them in the face, but I ain't a fink, dig?"

"You've made your last delivery kid."

"Sorry you got twisted up in this scene. From where you're kneeling it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck."

"But, truth is...the game was rigged from the start."

There is still time to make decisions for character stats and such. Not sure when the first actual update will be started, but I'd give it a few days or so.

Off-topic, but as much as I complain about Bethesda's "new" engine for Skyrim being just Gamebryo with a new coat of paint, going back to Oblivion/Fallout 3/New Vegas, the games look rather ugly in comparison.

Can't wait for the rest of this!

I know a lot of people didn't really liked the way Benny talked, but for some reason I actually liked it, even if it was a little bit forced.

Honestly, he sounded like my uncle's bad impersonation of an gangster from the 1920s' to me. And keep in mind, this was a really, really bad one.

Looking forward to the LP though.

EDIT: Oh, and I finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I chose the
Anti-augmentation one as my ending

Well that's what made it funny, it was like a living charicature of a 20's gangster. Plus the snazzy suit and a sweet pistol.

That was Taggert's, right?

To be honest I would probably go with Sarif, which seems to be the closest to "canon" as far as the original Deus Ex goes (that's one problem with prequels).
