What did you think of Fallout 3's ending? Pre-Broken Steel in particular. Did you mind the choice the game gave you at an end?
Hated it, for the same, obvious reasons. That, and the fact that you could never truly join the Enclave, which was a real shame, especially for evil characters.

And the epilogue barely gave any closure, which is the main problem I had with it, not the fact that you couldn't play past it (which wasn't a problem at all for me).

Unless anything changes, yes, I will play Fallout: New Vegas. I will probably take a break in between though, to avoid burning out on the game.
I can't wait for that, even though I know that game almost like the back of my hand, it'll be nice to have some positive discusson with everyone.

Thinking of doing any other LPs after New Vegas? Maybe even the original Fallouts, or you'll probably be sick of Fallout and need to take a break from the series?

I would very much like to see a serious LP of Fallout 1 and 2 (I've only seen a silly one of the first game).

As for New Vegas, I vote we give the character a Latin name of importance and have them side with Caesar's Legion.

Ave, True to Caesar!

Plus, Latin names in general just sound cool, and finding a Latin name that means something and sounds cool shouldn't be too hard.

Better than my name, that's for sure. In Hebrew, "Caleb" means "Dog"

I found a few:
Augustus (Revered, Exalted) [Male]

Bellona (Goddess Of War) [Female]

Carla (Strong One) [Female]

Corbett (Black Raven) [Male]

Favian (Brave Man) [Male]

Kyrie (The Lord) [Unisex]

Lucian (Man Of Light) [Male]

Lucius/Lucrece (Bringer Of Light) [Male/Female]

Martin/Marcia (War-Like) [Male/Female]

Merritt (Deserving of good fortune) [Unisex] {Do this one if you create a High-Luck character}

Morrisa (Dark One) [Female]

Nuncio (Messenger) [Male] {This is the most approprate, don't you think?}

Solana (Wind From The East) [Female] {Isn't the East where the Legion is based?}

Taurus (The Bull) [Unisex]

That's what I've got so far.

I'm happy with my name, "Nicholas" means "Victory/power of the people" in Greek, were it originated.

Those definitely are some good ones, I especially like these;

Bellona (Goddess Of War) [Female]
Nuncio (Messenger) [Male] {This is the most approprate, don't you think?}

Solana (Wind From The East) [Female] {Isn't the East where the Legion is based?}

Name wise, I think I got gyped. My brother's name, Joshua, means "God rescues"

My sister, Hannah Joyce, name means "favor" and "Experienced in battle"

I got the short end of the stick.

That is a really cool name on your part though.

Oh, and those are my favorites as well. I have to say that Nuncio is my favorite for a male, and Solana is my favorite for a female. But if we side with Ceasar, don't you think a Male character is a better idea?

Haha, oh well what can you do? Well, you could change your name to Max Power or something like that but that's a little over-the-top.

Thanks, I like my mum's middle name, "Antonia", means "praiseworthy", "priceless" or "beautiful", which is funny because her first name is "Elena" which can also mean "beautiful". Those could also be possible female Caesar's Legion names too, asthey are both of Latin/Italian origin.

But if we side with Ceasar, don't you think a Male character is a better idea?
If I recall correctly, the only difference is that as a female you can't fight in the arena. Other than that it doesn't really matter whether you play as a male or female.

My family was big on Biblical names. The fact that they named me Caleb and my brother Joshua makes me think they were planning on another son.

My mother's name is "Joy" which means... Joy

I think you can't do the arena fight. I just think it makes more sense for a male to join a group that opresses women than a woman. Not by much, mind you. But still.

Be thankful they didn't name you Moses, people at school probably would've looked at you funny

Yeah it does make more sense, plus this LP was done with a female, so it's also kinda fair.

At least you didn't end up being called something like Moses, people at school would've looked at you funny.

Buu! The legion sucks. NCR FTW!
Oh, I agree with you on that part. But ChupathingyX here is the Legion Fanboy (Yes, I'm being facetious).

I perfer the NCR. However, I would like to see the game played through for the Legion.

Hahahaha, I'm not a fanboy, I just prefer to look at things in a more detailed manner, instead of face value. The actual Roman Empire did some bad things and were full of some particular douchebags, but there were also some innovative inventions and great rulers from time to time.

Obsidian could have handled the Legion much better, I'll admit that, but I wouldn't classify them as a "Moustache-twirling" level of villainy.

Nah, they're more of a raping and burning towns kind of group. They get less completely evil the higher up in the organization you go (though Caesar and his inner circle are still pretty damn awful, you can at least follow their thinking to some extent). The regular soldiers don't offer much more comment on how you're inferior scum and how they can't wait to try out the new slave girls.

My Legion playthrough was fun and interesting for the purpose of trying to understand them, though.

I'd prefer an Independent Vegas or a Mr House run through the game for a Let's Play. You alienate a good many other factions when you side with the Legion. Well...many not a good many, but important factions who are based in important areas. Plus, most companions hate the Legion.

veryoen does bad things, like I said about the Romans, its pretty much impossible for large empires/nations to be completely good and not have any black spots on their legend. Look at America, they've done great things, created (for lack of a better word) great people, but look at the Vietnam War and many other things.

The regular soldiers don't offer much more comment on how you're inferior scum and how they can't wait to try out the new slave girls.
It's an indoctrination thing, young would-be-legionaries are taught specific things and to act in certain ways. You could say it's morally wrong and unethical, and I would most likely agree with you, but it also creates a sense of law and order and a no-nonsense approach to matters (which can be bad or good, depends on the situation).

Plus, the NCR are not afraid to burn down villages or towns if they stand in their way, or to torture people who they don't like.

(though Caesar and his inner circle are still pretty damn awful, you can at least follow their thinking to some extent).
I don't know, I honestly don't think Caesar is as bad he may seem, remember he was part of the Followers at one stage, and hates corrupt political systems and honestly never wants a repeat of the Great War, even if his particular method seems a bit backwards.

I haven't decided if I'm going to be doing anything after that, but I've been weighing multiple candidates for awhile now. It probably won't be Fallout 1 or 2, because I might want to do something. I don't know though.

I agree, they aren't puppy eating evil, but they still are rather evil. The fact that you get good Karma for killing them undermines the whole "Grey morality" side of things.
