Fire Emblem is a turn-based strategy RPG made by intelligent systems and released in North America on the GBA in 2003. It is the first game in the series to be released outside of japan and is therefore one of the most popular entries in the series in NA. In japan, the game is known as fire emblem: Rekka no Ken (blazing sword). Having grown up with this title, this is my favorite and most played SRPG. I noticed that most people tend to be ignorant of the series' existance, so I have taken it upon myself to LP, this title to spread interest in the series.

who are you?
Sextus The Crazy, or sextus, for short. This is my first LP.

Do you have an update schedule planned?
Nope. It's gunna be turbulent. That said, I'll try to release stuff regularly this week.

Looking good so far. I only ever saw Lyn's story of this game so I'll be keeping an eye on this. Hope it will be a flawless run but it would be cool if you demoed each character's leaving scene and dialogue. I assume you're playing on an emulator since this is a screenshot Let's Play so you could easily do it with save states. Hope it goes well and looking forward to it.

I've played this game like ten times, so a flawless run will be quite easy to do, but I could demo death dialogue if y'all want me to. That said, I don't like using save states for anything but arena abuse because I lost many a save file to the wrong key stroke.

This game is my favorite out of the entire series for, like many hardcore fans, it was the one that introduced them to the series and got them hooked. It helps that it's probably the most well balanced in the series.

Loved Fire Emblem 7 such a good game

My hectors always got screwed by the RNG during level ups. Maybe It makes up for the number of 50% chance hits that he landed. When I used Guy, I found that he was pretty good, but his strength was just low enough that he could never 2HKO most units.

On the other hand my ninos and darts and lyns always turn out well.

good to hear! Actually Shadow Dragon was one of the weaker games in the series, so if you liked that try checking out Path of Radiance for the gamecube. It's probably the overall best FE game released in the US.

But Skip Radiant Dawn for the Wii, it's a terrible sequel.

How can Lyn and Fred talk if they're on opposite sides of the map?

Sad Fred contemplates life, the universe, and everything.

Well, we could, but we'd look like total jackoffs if we did.

Permadeath activated!

Weapon ranks (determines useable weapons, E to S)

Transform into a vagina blob!

Remember Sain, swords before sheaths.

Yeah, that D-rank is real impressive.

Weapon Triangle in a nutshell.

When in doubt, exploit the hell out of it.

Sain's inability to spear vagina shaped objects is reflective of his love life.

Personally, I used lowen as my cavalier for a couple games until I realized that I got lucky with the RNG and his actual stats were meh (balanced and average is pretty bad when it comes to stats, Lowen wasn't a good DPS and his defenses above average, but he couldn't wall mages).

He's okay if you know how to use his strengths (high movement, weapon triangle mastery, balanced stats). Plus, supporting with rebecca makes his combat abilities better.

That said, I don't really use him anymore.

Good stats + horrible movement = I don't use him much.
I tend to get RNG screwed with him, anyway.
Also he's kinda boring, much like Kent.

I see. I personally used Debut video capture software. It's really fast because it auto-saves the images. But then again, I don't know how the VBA's one works.
