This Fire Emblem is what got me into the series but my favorite is still Path of Radiance loved the characters the plot and the laguz were an awesome mechanic
If we're being completely honest, I think that Radiance is the overall best in the series. It's well-writen, has good characters, and is well balanced and has good difficulty. All other games in the series have some sort of weakeness. (FE7 has some stupid plot shit that I'mma tear a new asshole later). The laguz was a cool concept, but outside of Muarim and his demiband, I found the laguz to lag behind the beorc in usefulness.
This is true but what I liked about the Laguz is that they were truly balanced incredibly hard hitting but out of form they didn't do so well. Which the game completely broke when you got to use the Royals
Seriously, Laguz royals are broken. Two of my top five units at the end of Radiant Dawn were Tibarn and Caineghis, and you don't get them till near the end!

Also, halfshifts are bullshit!
Quite, which is why in POR you got them for one level. Radiant dawn gives you them for the last third of the game. That said, If you just noticed Radiant Dawn's balancing issues, you've got problems.

Half-shifts are useless and so are the non-royal laguz in RD.

Erk, promote at lvl 20, becomes epic Beast! Just saying, magic users are ridiculously overpowered in this game. Actually pretty much any character is, as long as you wait to lvl 20 to promote them.

This game ROCKS! I've played it about 100 times, and this LP makes me want to play it again!

Also, nice LP!
Good to see someone as passionate about this game as I am. Erk is pretty useful, but he isn't really beastly. In fact, his stats are quite tame, but he's the only mage you get until nino shows up so he doesn't get much competition. Ditto for Canas.

Magic is just OP in fire emblem as series.

This is really god. It reminded me of the days when I was in 6th grade, eagerly awaiting the last bell so i could go home and play it.This is actually the first LP I have ever watched, so yours will be the one I judge all others by. Good luck :)
just played during snack break and recess. :)

I don't know If I'm the best yardstick for LPs, but I've definitely seen worse.

[HEADING=2]Let's Play Fire emblem: Chapter 3: Band of Mercenaries[/HEADING]

Hey y'all. Here's next chapter. This time we're not faffing around some stupid temple though.

Wait. They travelled in the opposite fucking direction to go see some stupid temple that's far away?

Taliver Mountain, a forward-thinking post-apocalyptic nation.

Unlike someone else I know...

Lyn now gets the badass seal of approval.

I know it's pretty hard, so here's a reminder.

Quit picking on hermione! She doesn't have to apologize to anyone.
She can dye her hair any color she wants.

Wait. You've got a pegasus. Why haven't you flown your ass out of there?
Haven't you heard of air cavalry?

Ring any bells?

That pegasus knight looks threatening...

A Pegasus? At this hour?

meanwhile in Illa...

You're the shittiest horse pilot ever.

No one cares what you think, Ambrose.

Does the game's code dictate that the word yes must have a full bubble?

What, do they just hide in buildings until some idiot traveler passes through? That's pretty smart.
But perhaps they should have surrounded Lyn earlier.

That won't stop us from attacking them though. Or shooting at the pegasus.

Hehe. I told them we're not bandits.

wait. This needs the appropriate music.

there we go.

You can fire through solid objects as much as you damn well please for some reason.

Are these fire emblem's arrows?

Open your eyes. You're not Brock.

Seeing you ride that pegasus, I thought that you must be a druid. My bad.

Protip: Only have Fire emblem use this system.

There we go. Much better.

Actually, it's a genre I've never really gotten into. Unless you count pokemon. In which case, that's the only one. I'm not very good at that, to be honest. I prefer to be the soldier running in and wailing on the foe, rather than the one who sends the orders.

Pretty good, actually. Pretty good. The anti-aircraft joke made me chuckle.

I guess it's a bit weird for me because I never played this game, and I don't have much of a clue as to whats going on

That's okay. Most my stuff is going to be MST3K style riff humor rather than referential. I know that these games aren't especially well known.

Well, this is really the only game of the genre I really got into. I do highly enjoy turn-based strategy games like Civilization though.

Anyway, as I've said before, I highly enjoy your humor. A nice blend of referential and riff humor.

[HEADING=2]Let's Play Fire emblem: Chapter 4: In Occupation's Shadow[/HEADING]

Hey, a chapter that actually provides a challenge (to new players).

What? You won't accept anything short of the Flakturm VII for your nightly defenses?

Also, no one has the cash to erect defenses.

Fine! Sleep exposed to enemy attacks for all I care! I'm staying the night in my foxhole, dreaming of staying the night in Megan's foxhole.

I understand the need to sleep where something blows.

...even though I was here first.

Soon.

But I get the feeling we soon will.

"by mistake"

Well, what a fuckin' coincidence.

Yes. But for different reasons.

Someone setup us the bandits!

Wait! I can't fight! If you're going to put the tactician on the frontlines, make sure he can fight.

How the fuck should I know? You never showed me it!

So he can get the power and then the women.

They're not all Blackwater, believe it or not. Also, that is the loosest interpretation of the term "Mercenary" I have seen in a while.

Jesus! What did you coat your axe with? Tannerite?

Better love story than twilight in only one chapter.

Killing Spree! Level Whore!

Must remember that Lyn still isn't a wall.

Not yet.

Don't worry, you won't be.

You touch me while I'm sleeping and I'll chop off your dick.

Nope, and with good reason.

Question of the day: What's your favorite class? If you haven't played FE, then what classes in other RPGS do you like? Personally, I'm a fan of druids (if you couldn't guess).

I face a conundrum whit FE classes. I like the axe users, but the sword masters are just so much more useful such as Mia from PoR and RD. So hell let's just go with that anything that can use an axe and sword masters.

I believe the class you are describing is the hero class.

I had forgotten about that one, yup that was defiantly my favorite class. I was bummed when I figured out it wasn't in PoR.

In the context of Forgotten Realms...

I'm a fan of Paladins and Sorcerers. Being a goody-two-shoes, I always try to do the right thing. That, and I'm a religious person. I like the idea of a divine ass-kicker. The Grey Guard prestige class is also pretty cool

I also prefer sorcerers over wizards. I like the idea of being naturally gifted with magic, over learning it.

Also in the context of forgotten realms: I'm not a huge fan of druids, sadly. In that, they come off as neo-pagans who smoke pot in the woods.

Druids in Fire Emblem are nothing like those in D&D. They're the only class-line that uses dark magic and they're characters tend to be either power hungry or intellectually curious. Also they get some of the most OP magic in the game.

[HEADING=2]Let's Play Fire emblem: Chapter 4: In Occupation's Shadow[/HEADING]

I guess that I also dislike their alignment restriction, as I tend to RP as zelots, like Lawful Good or Lawful Evil.

And in D&D, they're way to concerned with "balance". If Elanee goes on about it one more time.....

Also, they're hippies. And I don't like hippies.

Good to know they're different in this game, though!

In all honesty, I never really cared for nature based mages and their ilk. Not really to much of nature guy. I prefer academic mages, which explains my choice of favorite fire emblem characters.

Gann of Dreams is the only good nature-priest I've ever met in a game. Elanee is sweet, but she's not a good caster. In fact, she's really not a good character.

I prefer mages who are gifted with their power, and have to chose how they use it, rather than those who earn it. But that's just me

I think that how one uses their powers is more important than how they earn them. I like the characters that use their magic skills to further their knowledge and the knowledge of others.
