Well, we did it Escapists, we took over the world. To top it off, you named me King. Shut up, you did, you just don't remember. So the first thing I did was to wipe everything off the planet and start over again. In hindsight, that probably wasn't the best move. But what's done, is done.
It turns out that while destroying all the things on Earth we discovered NASA had a secret base in Area 51 that held not only warp drive technology, but 2 ships that already had engines installed. One of which was a colony ship set up to colonize another planet should we find one. So I decided not to bulldoze Houston. So here we are, Houston is now a city larger than any other in all of history. I commissioned that an industrial district be built on the northern district.
I raise taxes to 35% and maximized spending. (40%/20%/40%) Right now we are a despotism so, I get final say on things this early but I am welcome to opinions. I do hold the power to veto just for fun though.
I issued the navigational starship (dubbed "The Soapbox") to Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw as a flagship of Earth to explore our surroundings of the galaxy figuring even if he finds nothing, at least he will make it entertaining to listen to. As Yahtzee heads out exploring the stars, the escapist community begins deciding who wishes to go to the new colony and who wishes to stay.
The people discussed our future plans and nominated the Extra Credits team to lead the colony vessel out in search of a planet to begin an intergalactic market with. So, the remainder of us got to work constructing industrial districts all over Escapitol to make it an industrious powerhouse being able to create more colony ships to explore the galaxy with.
A mere month had passed and we already received a transmission from Daniel Craig, oddly animated as an Extra Credits episode instead of a video transmission. He claim that they had found a Class 9 planet on their first warp jump and they talked about the implications of this to the empire and the galaxy for roughly 8 minutes. Some of it was really far out on a philosophical limb but Ashley's illustrations made even the minute queries entertaining to sit through. A few more 'episodes' were transmitted soon after about how they planned to jumpstart an economy on this new planet by producing and selling games. The planet was named "Extra Creditz" as a perfect fit to it's founders and its economical prospect.
I raised taxes to 45% with minimal resistance and rushed another (faster) colony ship model to search the nearby star clusters for planets a bit more rich with resources. The manufacturing of colony ships was getting easier as more resources became available to the empire.
The computer generated this model as a starchart:
Goal of this Let's Play:This game is to merge multiple players into one empire. Inner-strife can rise as well as player pacts and alliances. Probably due to the feelings of where each faction feels the empire's direction should lie. Each player is seen as an inner faction to the empire. You will have planets and others will have planets and all will have their wn view as to what we should do, but each will have pull in different areas. However, we are all in this together. Our survival is dependent on our actions.
It is set on tough difficulty in a Gigantic galaxy. (That's how I roll) But this is also why I might veto suggestions. I will weigh them all though. Cheers. Now, let's take over the galaxy.

[HEADING=2]GENERAL RULES[/HEADING]
------------------------------
[HEADING=3]Extended Rules[/HEADING] [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/9.302535.12088685]------------------------------
-You can only join the game from a planet with a starport. (Can build ships)
-The types of planets you control effect your weight in the game.
Industrial Planets: You have the ability to make ships and contribute your firepower to our war efforts. With this also comes the responsibility of making a ship for any new person that wishes to join the game on your planet. (Build them a colony ship) You do not have to do so right away but you must prioritize it. If this type of planet is all you ever make, that is fine, but you will be limited as to when you can settle, and the number of ships you will be allowed. As it will also be your responsibility to build freighters, construct starbases, etc. Your input on war efforts becomes more valuable the more firepower you have.
Economy Planets: You have the ability to influence our trade, espionage, and the types of planets we can afford to support. As well, the tax rate and industrial spending. Your input on the budget is more widely considered the more influence you have on our economy.
Research Planets: You have more influence on tech trading and the technologies we pursue from the tech tree.
Misc: You can mix and match these as much as you want but I strongly suggest you don't. It is best if you consider each planet with a single purpose. If you plan to add a starport to a research planet, I suggest you add at least 2 factories to help you build ships faster than a snails pace. But I will build however you wish for me to. However, if you lose a planet - you are not guaranteed to get ownership back if it is reclaimed.
Faction Votes: To be expanded on later.
