It seems like the restored content mod might be worth it. Is the voice acting THAT bad? Are there any graphic update mods recommended by anyone?

There's the Restored Content Mod, and then there's an optional addition to it which adds another planet based off notes, but which the resources were never properly developed for. The Vanilla RCM is excellent, makes lots of tweaks here and there, and uses existing voice assets to do what needs doing (there's a great section with HK which didn't exist previously) - it's definitely worth getting. The optional expansion to the RCM with the new planet, being based on unfinished assets as it is, uses creator-recorded voice assets, which are abominable.

Man loving this post, it has actually inspired me to go through TSLRCM and it's been great. Couldn't find the power source for HK though, so he's still dormant and I'm at Malachor already (yes, I blasted through). Loving this, keep up the good work

I say dantooine because thats where i always go first although i almost always do darkside which means that dantooine is usually a bit of a challenge because Vrook is a tough fight but i assume you wont be killing him so thats less of a problem. And id probably grab a lightsaber but thats cause i always like the crafting mechanincs in this one especially with the unique crystal and your mostly light side so if you try you could get the silver color crystal which is awesome in its uniqueness

This scene serves three distinct purposes. Firstly, it continues to reinforce and inform the Social Darwinist aspect of Kreia's character, though it is presented much more reasonably in this situation, as she argues that her philosophies are not nesecarilly about individual benefit but also creating adversity through which others can strengthen themselves. This is emphasized by the dark side version of this scene, which is triggered by being a dick while refusing the guy your money. In this version of the scene, she calls out the Exile for being an asshole for no good reason, dispelling some ideas that she is the token evil teammate, while simultaneously reinforcing the influence the Exile has over others when his dickery causes the man to take out his frustration on an innocent bystander. Secondly, this scene sums up the game's approach to morality and moral choice perfectly: your choices, good and ill, may not have the results you expected, and things are a little more complex in this game than in KotOR 1 and in the majority of other Star Wars media, and exposing the naivety of the issue of black and white morality in those works and any other that exhibits it.

Finally, it provides an excellent system for Bioware to rip off for Jade Empire. And then completely botch.

Because we want to grant influence with Kreia, we take the path of least resistance.

I like the design of this place. It's kind of a dirty, dinky version of Coruscant, and while I prefer it's planet-wide casino look in The Old Republic, it looks pretty cool here too.

This is a bizzare scene, in that it comes completely out of nowhere, and while it does hold certain foreshadowy elements, it doesn't have them to anywhere near the same degree as one might expect given the placement of this scene. However, I like this scene because it really shows the power of the Jedi. Too often Jedi are just these guys who fight with laser swords and move some objects without touching them. But Jedi are, in reality, incredibly powerful, and, a Jedi clever enough can manipulate the force, the very fabric of life, to godlike proportions. As much as I dislike the story of the Force Unleashed games, they really emphasized just how powerful I imagine a Jedi can be.

Question Time! Now that Microsoft has backpedaled on their DRM policies, the console wars are looking much more evenly matched than they were a week ago. Therefore, have any of you decided which console you are going to get? Xbox One, PS4, both, or none? Personally, I think I'm going to get the PS4 first, mainly because PS+ is a much better deal than Xbox Live, but also because I've been really dissatisfied with the 360s exclusives these past couple of years, and the promise of Halo Whatever isn't enough to make me slap down £430 for something less powerful than the cheaper option.

I actually wish they'd stuck with KotoR combat, at least it feels a little bit Star Warsy if nothing else whereas under the TOR system manipulating the force doesn't feel any different at all from a soldier being able to run very fast or create their own cover. (Plus the way they totally ignore the fact it's an MMO that got to me)

You could be making the beggar a target, or he may just get one night sleeping on a full stomach, or used it to start some wacky adventure which led to him setting up an orphanage. As a result I was never really a fan of it. I do like that it makes you think, if you didn't think about it and the issue wasn't raised it's sweeping genuine points under the rug for sake of convenience, but you don't have to think about it and necessarily agree.


I'm going to get a PS4, I always was in honesty Sony would have had to severely screw up for that not to be the case, I don't think there was much Microsoft could do DRM or no DRM. Even if it were more expensive, Sony have Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and Quantic Dream. Locking myself out of Naughty Dog's games for 5 years seems silly.

Whereas on the Microsoft side only Remedy are left now with a track record of producing interesting games. Even if I liked Halo, Bungie left and I don't consider 343 Industries to have proven themselves yet. And if you compare Remedy and Quantic Dream, both make brilliant but highly flawed games, however Quantic Dream's mistakes are still interesting whereas Remedy's missteps led to hours and hours of holding a cursor over unchanging enemies again and again with little to no variation, which really got in the way of Alan Wake's good points.

While I wasn't a fan of the Uncharted games, I've really enjoyed the Last of Us so far, and am excited to see where Naughty Dog is going to go on the PS4. As for Quantic Dream and Remedy, I think you hit the nail on the head. All of the games the two studios have made have been based on excellent ideas that end up being failures on release, but the differences is that while every Quantic Dream game I've played from Omikron onwards has been an utter train wreck, they've at least been interesting train wrecks. Farenheit in particular is a fascinating case study of just how utterly mental a story can get without proper pacing. I mean, it's a game that begins with you unwittingly murdering a guy, and ends with you FIGHTING THE INTERNET.

I only started playing SWTOR when it hit F2P, because I don't like MMOs, but still wanted to play it to see how things went. I took it in doses for a while, and haven't got back to it in months, but I will eventually, because the storylines really are quite interesting - but I care not one whit for the multiplayer aspect of it. This new batch of quasi-MMOs coming out is interesting though - Elder Scrolls Online, Journey - they've got MMO elements, but it seems like they'll be blurring the line to some degree or another - also, they'll be on consoles, which should prove interesting. Maybe they'll manage to pull me into the multiplayer elements, maybe they'll stand well as single-player-like experiences, or maybe neither will shine enough to get me in - but at least there's a possibility I'll enjoy the gameplay, unlike SWTOR, where I knew exactly what I was in for.

As for Geeda, she doesn't pay off until later, but when she does, I think she's the only source of the Pacifist Module, which I'm dying to see. Generally, when I hit Nar Shaddaa, I talk to the Duros WITHOUT talking to the Geeda, buy all the stuff of his I want, then help Geeda out, because after that point you can't buy from him - but unlike Geeda, he doesn't upgrade is wares, and is a total asshole.

Oh, and Xbone/PS4. I'm a 360 player, but my god, the Xbone just set off so many alarm bells that it scared me the hell off - plus, ultimately, you pick your console based on the exclusives, and in the past few years, the 360 has had few exclusives I cared for - shooters, yeah, but fuck shooters - whereas the PS3 has always had great exclusive franchises, and just keeps dishing them out (I REALLY want to play The Last of Us, dammit). So yeah, unless the PS4 turns out to run off the life force of puppies, I'm probably going that way.

When I first played this game it was immediately after I'd played KOTOR1 (came to the series late, so I finished KOTOR1 one day then literally went out the next day, got this game and installed it, pre-restored content mod) so I guess I was still in more of the Bioware mindset, and I simply couldn't stand Kreia as a character. She struck me as being like one of those annyoing kids that's always asking "why? why? why?" just to get a rise out of you. She's definitely grown on me over time though

Personally i would like it if you added the WiiU since it is a next gen console I personally grabbed a wiiu, but between the xbox and ps4 id say ps4 all the way, it's cheaper, more powerful, and has features that i feel are much better. I might eventually grab an xbox one once the price for it drops to what i would consider reasonable for a purchase.
