Basically, do you have or know anyone with phobias? what are they? how do they cope? why?
Now, I know phobia phobias are an actual medical condition , but for the sake of this thread, phobias are merely something you have a great dislike/hatred towards, or causes you anxiety or distress, it doesn't have to be a "recognised phobia" so to speak.
Extra points for weirdness and oddity.
I'll go first;
I have Arachnophobia. I don't know what it is about them, they just freak me the fuck out. For someone who dislikes violence and unnecessary suffering, I wish nothing but death on these eight legged buggers. If there were a button I could press that erased all spiders from existence, I would, regardless of ecological impact.seriously, Fuck those guys.
I have a similar hatred for crisps/potato chips. Especially smelly ones like Salt and Vinegar or Cheese and Onion. The crumbs, grease and smell all make my stomach turn. If someone opens a packet around me I will flip out big time. It's so bad that I feel disgusting just walking past an empty packet lying on the street. This is also one of the reasons I despise anyone who eats food on a public bus or train. Again, if there was a button, it's already be pressed.
So I'm pretty cushty with things, but shove a spider or crisps in my face, I'm like the god damned Hulk.
Also, my mum has an all out fear of static electricity. I'm not talking huge Van der Graaf generators, I mean when you take clothes out of the tumble dryer and they "spark". If you brush against her and give her a shock she will let out the most god awful cry and jump 10 feet in the air. It was so bad that during an episode of Family Guy, Peter gets a onesie suit that gives out shocks, My mum would not stop fidgeting and cringing through that.
How about you?
