Having never watched MASH, all I see is two gay guys in army uniforms. Maybe if I at least knew the characters, it would help. I bet the same pic with A-Team characters would make me laugh, because I know Mr. T. Mr. T in anything cracks me up. Ever see his self-help video Be Somebody Or Be Somebody's Fool?

How about: Power Rangers was nothing but a cheap, poorly coreographed live-action Voltron knock-off. One that didn't even involve space. Stop crying, it's true. :p
Yeah, I finally get to use all the random facts I know about Japanese TV being adapted into English.

The original Voltron series was created in 1984 using material licensed from the Japanese cartoons Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. Beast King GoLion was made by Toei Animation from 1981-1982.

Super Sentai started in 1975 with Himitsu Sentai Goranger. The creator of Power Rangers, Haim Saban, wanted to use the Japanese series and adapt it for US audiences. Unlike animation, that can be re-dubbed in English and excused as American, live-action had to be done in the fashion we now know as Power Rangers. Saban had been trying to adapt Super Sentai for years. For one, Bioman (1984) -- which never got developed and Jetman (1991) but ultimately settled with Zyuranger (1992).

So if GoLion was made in 1981 and Super Sentai concept in 1975, then Super Sentai came first. Now you can say that Power Rangers DID come after Voltron. But both GoLion and Voltron came after Super Sentai, if anyone want to talk about 'Rip-offs,' then Voltron can be taken as a rip-off of Sentai. However since both Super Sentai and GoLion are made from the same company (Toei) then I don't think either can be considered a rip-off.

There, done, everybody's childhood is gone.
Meh, no blaming people for their tastes, so as long as I don't see them. If I do happen upon them, I can just click away.

But show me one involving [insert favorite cartoon here] and I'll find someone to hijack your bank account.

The Fonz is currently shilling for a reverse-mortgage company. If that doesn't trump everything, I don't know what does.

Yeah, but to be fair, he was also one of the funniest characters on Arrested Development, so it kind of trumps it. He did an interview on Jay Mohr's podcast and talked about writing children's books about dyslexia. He generally sounds like the nicest guy, so whatever he needs to do to make extra money, that's fine with me. I wouldn't care if he were cooking meth.

This is Cartoon Network's current logo:

And this is one of their original programs which is still running.

Notice that none of these people appear to be animated.

You may weep now.

If we're going with theories more than ruined childhoods, I have one for a show most of you have probably never seen.

Probably not.

If you do, however, there is an urban legend that the last episode, which has only aired once, was about this kid, the main character actually having lost his legs.

Let me elaborate.

In the first episode this kid is about to get run over, when a soccer ball saves his life (I haven't seen it, I can;t explain it) so this kid dedicates his life to soccer. It's a sports manga/anime, generic as hell. The last episode, after he wins every tournament or something, shows that he was actually in a coma this whole time, and he did get hit by a car making him lose his legs.
Supposedly this was also only aired once, before it was taken off for being to dark.

Then again, this is an urban legend, who knows if it's true.

I'm not gonna deny it, cause honestly I've never even seen the show. It was apparently really big in Mexico so I knew people who watched it and told me about it.

This may just be a coincidence, either way, your welcome.
I am surprised more people didn't notice this during their first viewing. I was the only one in my group who caught it and pointed it out to everyone else. And I haven't even seen the first movie in over a decade.

The shows you enjoyed as a child? They all sucked. You just remember them as being awesome because of nostalgia.

The Lion King's Simba and Nala? There's a good chance that they're half-brother and -sister.

Oh, and Disney happy endings in general? Lies.

Hunchback of Notre Dame? Esmeralda is betrayed and gets hanged, and Quasimodo kills the betrayer, and then himself.
Little Mermaid? Prince Eric marries someone else, and Ariel chooses to die rather than to kill his bride and steal him for herself.

The moral of Beauty and the Beast is that Stockholme Syndrome is totally awesome.
Destroying brothers Grimm stories? Tsk tsk, you should not not do such a thing.
Which one? The little Mermaid is HC. Anderson, Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback are french novels.

David Yost, who played the blue ranger Billy, eventually left the show due to the near-constant abuse he received for being homosexual.
He then attended a Christian camp to "rid himself of the vileness that is homosexuality" before finally relenting, and now lives with his gay partner in Mexico. I wish I could make this stuff up.
I thought one of the old Power Rangers also became a porn star. I think it was the Red Ranger?

The male trainer from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire doesn't have white hair, he's just wearing a really stupid looking hat.

Wow, I didn't know that. o_O

Still looks like hair to me so I'm going to treat it that way.
If you look closely, you can see a tiny sliver of hair coming out from under the hat next to his left ear, according to other images of him, he in fact has black hair.

I always just assumed he had two coloured hair.

Which is hardly unexpected considering it's anime/a game with anime graphics.

Black ranger: Stand-Up Comedian

Pink ranger: Actor on crappy ABC dramas.

Blue ranger: See above

Yellow ranger: Busy decomposing.

Red ranger: Terrifyingly overweight EMT

Green ranger: Mixed Martial Arts fighter.

There was the rumor the pink ranger (Amy Jo Johnson) went into porn, but it was someone else, and the internet blew it out of proportion.
Didn't one of the early Black Rangers go into voice acting? I remember hearing he is a pretty famous anime VA.

No that was disproved. It was just a guy who looked a whole lot like him but both the porn star and the ex-ranger said that it wasn't the case.
