A tidy, full beard, about an inch off the face and not ginger.

Those are my requirements for a beard to be attractive. A friend of mine is dating an italian with a beard like that and Damn is he ever fine.
so you wouldnt want someone with a beard like gandalf or gimli then? :p
One of my favourite books as a kid was called 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl. You don't look at big beards the same way after reading that.

ok guys im 19 and going to be 20 this year, so i thought about growing a beard now because i thought it would make me look a lot better as i normally dont have one, im at the stubble stage at the moment and id appreciate any tips and what you think about beards. also, if theres any advice if it helps pull the ladys, im game ;)
my advice man, keep it at the stubble stage, as it still elongates the face while the ladies dig the rugged look.
don't go full-beard.

When I first grew a beard I did the whole-beard thing which was ok, it wasn't the best look I've ever gone for and eventually I shaved it down to a goatee and I've kept it ever since and would feel weird without it now. People seem to either like it or hate it and as i've noticed seem to like to tell you how they feel about it more than most style choices you make.

Well, as someone who's kept a goatee, mustache, and currently a beard, the best piece of advice is to work with what you have. Let things grow out for 3 weeks to get your base. Then you shape it to your face. Aim to keep it between trim and moderately full. Avoid anything crazy, unless that's just you, in which case expect none of the aforementioned women. For care, shampoo and condition it at least once a week. You'll need both a beard trimmer and a good pair of scissors.

And neckbeards, btw, are too unkempt and reminiscent of 'neckbeards'. Keeping your neck clean every few days is much easier than a daily full shave, so just do it.

As for women, it really depends on the individual. Some dig facial hair, others not so much, and still others appreciate (or just put up with) variety.

I'm 18 and I always have facial hair. Not a shitty neck-beard, a fully functional furry face. Still waiting for the stache and beard to connect for the goatee though.

Beards can be high maintenance, but treat it well and it will give you many years of enjoyment.

Oh, I had to type that, because the excessive amount of beard has rendered my mouth useless.

I hope you don't have any appointments coming up that require you to shave. That always seems to be my cross to bear unfortunately. The one thing I hate about growing a bread is the stage between 5 o'clock shadow and roughly a couple centimeters long as I seem to look like a bum.

HA, I finally managed to "grow" out of that goddamn problem. My sympathies brother.

It is scientifically proven that beards give you +5 to your bear wrestling stat.

But in all seriousness, I think beards are super rad. I wish I could grow one...stupid bears...
im afraid that the wrestling bear stats would be generally against my character build as i am from britain and there are no bears to fight in the region of norfolk, unfortunately, so ill probably pool my points into a more useful skill such as speech or barter and also repair since im training to be a mechanic :)
Then I'd go for the goatee. Why else would Gordon Freeman sport one?

For the love of everything that is loveable, don't grow a neckbeard, no matter what you might think when you stand just right while looking in the mirror it's not going to lock good.

Just shave that shit off.
ok fair enough, why do you hate neck beards for, the look or the way they feel?
It just really puts me off when I am making out with my significant other, it just never looks or fees good when she allows that neckbeard to grow out.

I'm kidding with you. The real reason for my hate of neckbeards comes from my childhood. A neckbeard killed my parents. I swore vengeance on neckbeard and now I use my parents fortune to help me strike fear into the hearts of neckbeard everywhere as The Razor!

If you're considering kissing girls on the face, you may want to consider leaving off the beard.

You'll either tickle them or give them a lovely red ghost beard... then again, there is a certain amount of amusement to be derived from that!

Beard-on, good sir!

If anything Gordon Freeman, Chuck Norris, Jesus, Gandalf, and Fable has told us is true...

Beards = + 25 to your win stat.

My personal favourite beard:

However, I shaved myself a few days ago and now I'm finding out how fast I can re-grow my beard. Or at least a moustache.

As for facial hair in general, if you're comfortable with it, go for it.
