You know, there's one thing I like about Batman. He goes in there, kicks some ass, and gets out. No posing, no chest thumping, no "Watch now and be amazed by my glorious performance!" hogwash some other "heroes" tend to keep getting roped into by their writers.

Bruce Wayne tho? Jeez, I hate that guy.

Everyone knows Mintberry Crunch is thus far the most popular and best super hero. He could totally wreck batman in a fight by using the refreshing power of mint and berries.

Superman isn't fucking crazy and would probably show restraint.

I'm a Batman fan but always thought he shouldn't be in the same 'universe' as the more...fantastical characters. As I grew older I lost interest in superheroes but for some reason never in Batman, and that is b/c the inherent vulnerability of the character lends itself to much more interesting and mature storytelling. I find the psychological complexity of Batman much more interesting and intriguing than the superpowers of some dude who can fly to the moon or shoot lasers through his eyes. As far as I'm concerned they are different worlds. One I continue to enjoy and the other only appealed to 12-year old me.

Oh and Batman wasn't just defeaten by Bane though. Batman was already physically and mentally exhausted by the time Bane waited for him in Wayne manor. Having chased his entire rogues gallery after Bane freed them from Arkham already pushed Batman to his very limit. And in Knightfall he was already exhausted before that happened.

But again, that is what makes Batman interesting. Not his superpowers but his raw determination to keep on going.
