Started with a Human Noble Warrior, then switched to a Female City Elf Warrior at Girlfriends request. I'm loving the game so far, it sort of feels like playing an exceptionally awesome game of DnD.
Why did your girlfriend make you change?

EDIT: also I made the ugliest City Elf guy you've ever seen, and the wedding scene was lol.
sigh, after playing the elf origins I started hating all humans in the game, despite being my main character being a human himself. And worst, being a mage, gives you more ammunition to hurt them hummies and those religious chantry nuts.
I played thru a few origins to begin with; but as a Dwarf noble, I usually just take the "meh, humans, or meh elves" stance. With mages I go "lol".

Dwarfs rule.

Im a level 14 Warrior Human.

I got to go get the Dwarves on my side, and then I got to go back to Denerim.

Also, I finished the Stone Prisoner and got Shale (whos awesome). I also have 3/4 romance achievements (alistair wont put out). Also, I only need like one more companion dude, before I get that achievement as well (Recruiter).

I must say the Blood Dragon armor is like the best armor in the game, and the Final Reason staff, is also like the best.

Also, the story so far, is amazing.

Yeah BD armor is the best in the game, makes me glad I rushed down STR to meet the requirements.

So... this is a game truely worthy of mounds of cash. I pirated it first, played it a day.. and then i bought it happily.

Worst failure: All character are too awesome. I can never decide who i take with me... HORRIBLE *g*

I have played all openings and have played not that far in with two characters so far.

Didn't think i'd like it that much... at first i even thought it would be too much like a bad MMORPG... but it was classic Bioware. They even got me to like dwarfs (That is nearly impossible, I HATE dwarfs... normaly)

Oh and P.S. its VERY hard sometimes... had to turn to EASy for one foes or another: Damn mini-dragon kept two-shotting me people.

The graphics are fine but PC has better graphics overall depending on how good your PC specs are. And yes you can choose to be Female and choose your groups etc.

I've made a decision never to use Blood Dragon armor in any future playthroughs. It kinda kills the joy of fighting a series of boss battles against Revenants (VERY tough undead) to acquire a unique set of Tier 6 Plate (Juggernaut armor), only to check the stats and go "meh". In fact, I'll be disabling all my DLC items, except perhaps one per character (to represent a family heirloom). This is supposed to be a low magic setting, so it's kinda silly to be running around decked in epixxx from level 1...

Playing as a City Elf Rogue; mostly an archer, but also hitting with a dual-wield when forced into melee. On the 360, but I'm seeing no major problems with graphics. Sure, it's not a pretty as it could be, but it's more than bearable. Damn fun game too :)

Got my first TPK the other day too, in Redcliff. Kicked open a door and ended up mobbed by war dogs. Probably shouldn't have led with the archer and mage... :( Oh well, gonna go kill them real soon ;)

40 hours in, quite possibly my favorite game of all time. Now I must do a week's worth of homework before 8am

Yeah I'm probably going to do the same, it's cool for a bit but yeah it kinda ruins the loot-whoring

I hated my actions not ever feeling like they actually had any sort of weight on the universe, or at least none that I could ever distinguish.
I thought Mass Effect was a video game not a real-life simulator... (that's a joke aimed at my own life BTW).

I got it for the 360, and am just about to do the ritual to become a Grey Warden.
So I'm not very far at all.

But! It's good so far! I'm very intrigued and excited to see the game pan out.
I'm a City Elf Rogue. Just thought I'd throw that in.
Are the graphics really bad? From what i've seen in videos, it doesn't look bad at all for the 360 version. I've watches streams too but others say its graphics aren't good at all.

I've pre-ordered it, i can't wait for Friday! :D
The graphics don't look bad on youtube type videos because you think the textures look crappy from compressed video. They look crappy all the time. The character animations are terrible too. Wish they would have been ballzy and gone for a more unique art style. Pretty sick of the Oblivion style fantasy crap.

Other than all that, the game seems good. Just finished my origin as an elf mage on PS3. I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting this on a console. The menus are all pretty well done and responsive. The only thing you'd be missing out on is the free user-made content that will come out in many months for PC.

What is the combat system like? I watched a few youtube videos and it looks a bit like BG's but more boring and less tactical (a bit like KotOR's).

I spent 3 days over the weekend playing this and I really enjoy the story and the characters (go Shale) I would advise against playing a warrior with the Sword/Shield combo as it gets very boring very quickly and Shale or Alistair make far better tanks as giving them their tactics is nice and easy. Restarted after 7 hours because I got fed up with my Dwarf. Been playing as a mage and I've been having a lot more fun. This playthrough I've mostly been taking options that I feel like exploring, but next time I'm going to play through as a Female Elf Rogue being as cold-hearted/evil as possible.

I have to say, I think the Dwarf origin story is the first time I've ever thought the same thing as my character

When it turns out your youngest brother has been playing you as a patsy, I was banging my head on the table trying to figure out how it was I didn't see it coming.

I think the only Really annoying thing is the way the computer works out how the NPC's should level before you get them which meant I ended up going through about 6 levels without anyone able to open locks as the computer decided my Elf friend shouldn't learn that.

About 11hrs in here but not making much progress on the main story as I keep getting distracted by all the side quests. I think I've been wondering around the Dwarf city for about 3hrs now soaking everything up and now gearing up to travel through the Deep Roads.

Very curious to get the Stone guy that came with free DLC. What area on the world map do I need to travel to?
Shale is seriously awesome. The area you need to go to is called Sulcher's pass, or something similar. It's north west-ish.
