I hear the console version doesn't hold anything to the PC, so I doubt I'll get it (my PC is a piece of shit, and I prefer console games anyway). Plus I never played Baulders Gate and the like so I'll also miss out on the nostagia value. Maybe I'll pick it up next year some time.
I was initially worried about picking up the game for Xbox 360 as I had read a few reviews complaining about the graphics being less than stellar. Being a bit of a graphics whore, I was worried that the low res textures would bother me and detract from the overall enjoyment of the game.
However, having loved all previous Bioware games and not having a PC rig that can handle it, I finally broke down and purchased the game 2 nights ago for the 360 and can honestly say that I don't regret it.
I don't think graphics are a problem- they may not amaze you but they are certainly not "bad" by any means. I'll wager that most people will not care at all about the graphics and will get sucked into the excellent story telling and never look back.
I do agree that it is sometimes hard to micro-manage your group with the controller but it is adequate after you get used to it. I believe the control system will be far more of a hurdle for most players when comparing the PC vs Console versions than the graphical differences.
I do admit that I'm mostly here to experience the story and the combat elements are not that important to me (currently playing through on mostly "casual"... don't laugh!), therefore I think the console version will serve me just fine.
I highly recommend the game to anyone that is holding out due to the PC vs Console issue. I can see how the PC version is superior, however it is not worth missing out on this adventure if you are a console gamer.
