This thread was inspired by the internet and every day encounters with other people. It seems as though someone will ask you something about yourself but you'll always stretch the truth or pull something out of your ass completely. Usually to impress someone even though we set ourselves up to get exposed in a loop of questions, but before that happens we have as much fun with it as we can. So I ask you fellow Escapists what's the greatest lie you ever told about yourself, the longest lie you kept going, or the last time you lied?
EDIT: I'll also take lies you've heard other people say.
The last lie I told was that I once ditched a cop.
The greatest lie I told that impressed the most people is that I've punched Nicholas Cage. (I had the opportunity to, but couldn't do it.)
The longest lie I kept going was that I was Irish, kept it going for 4 years, I was under the belief that I was of Irish decent due to Irish customs around the house but when an ancestry project came around in school I found out I wasn't. I wasn't intentionally lying, but it turned out to be one.
