Life is like a highway.
the issue with living in the fast lane is you get to the other end awfully fast.

Life is like sex, at first you think the idea of it is awesome (and everything is great!), you get more excited about all the stuff you're told you can do later on and can't wait for it. After a lot of strain and struggle (with some highs and lows) you realise that the best bit is over and you're only sticking with it for the satisfaction of others.
Finally, you go to sleep afterwards, permamently.
Failing that, life is like DnD. Sure, you might think it's a big deal and that it's very interesting but I can guarentee you that no-one cares about your level 20 Epic Paladin (or to tie the analogy to life, no-one cares about all the shit you have on a day-to-day basis).
I realise that both of those probably reveal my complete and utter lack of a grip on society, life and interpersonal interaction.
