i finished 'Alan Wake' this evening and was largely disappointed by its limp (and somewhat confusing) ending. but then i thought about it for a second..... sonic unleashed, transformers WFC, no more heroes 2, these were games that (in my opinion) had a good beginning story and good gameplay, but their endings sucked!

why do you think this is??????

what game do you think has a limp ending?

There are a couple, the one that stands out the most is Bad Company 2. But honestly, I'm more disappointed when movies have limp endings. The ones with the biggest guilt there are Shutter Island and Afterlife.

I think this needs to be posted:

Also, even though it is one of my favorite games of all time, Jet Force Gemini. I'm sorry but that ending was just retarded.

war for Cybertron ties into all the comics and TV shows, so ofcourse they couldn't give a definate ending... The war has to rage on for thousands of years, so if the autobots or decepticons win the war on cybertron, then the entire francise that comes after is altered...

Halo 2. Master Chief walks in and says "I am here to finish the fight". Then the screen goes black. Most unsatisfying ending I have yet experienced.

as I first read the title I thought it was some sort of joke about not being able to "hold it in" if you know what I mean, and thne trying to help her finish and being limp... yeah, that's what I thought when I opened this

OT: I have to agree with you, but I suppose most platformers for me, LittleBigPlanet was amazing, but the way they designed enemies I think kind of made the finale fall flat.Borderlands, surprised someone hasn't mentioned that yet... can't think of any more off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are plenty more

damn ninja.

This ending just plain pissed me off. In the words of a halo spoof that I watched ages ago. "chief, you mind telling me what your doing on that ship?"

"sir, creating a pointless cliff hanger that will result in millions buying halo 3 on it's release date"

I'm going to go ahead and say the ending of Red Dead Redemption.

After that shoot-out at the ranch where John gets riddled with bullets and dies an honourable death, playing as his son and the entire 'Hunting down Agent Ross and kill him' mission feels kinda tacked on. You even activate it as a side-quest for gods sake. It just feels...shit.

Probably Borderlands. You spend like 30 hours grinding your way towards the Vault, and it turns out that all that's in it is a giant squid. Fuck that. (I liked Borderlands, but the ending pisses me off, I was hoping for at least some good loot to be in there)

Fallout 3. The original ending, I don't care if they released Broken Steel (a.k.a. We're sorry the ending sucked so hard we had to release mediocre ending...for $10)

ok yeah i know all that, but surely they could've come up with something bigger than "they leave in a space ship"

how about Optimus and megatron fight each other, then just when optimus is about to give the killing blow Starscream swoops in a saves Megatron, the desepticons leave cybertron just as the core shuts down, THEN the autobots board the ARK and chase the decepticons, with optimus vowing to megatron that no matter where they go, the autobots will always battle to destroy the evil forces of the decepticons!

isnt that cooler?

Yeah I agree with this... made me sad when I saw the cutscene happen.

Halo 2 I also agree with.

Half-life 2 (ALL of them) I just want them to finish the damn story so it can get all tied up neatly and make sense.

Assassin's Creed 1

Pretty much any game that kills your Main Character leaves me slightly disappointed.(Force Unleashed for example)
