I'm sure we've all seen the trailer for the new DS Zelda title, Spirit Tracks.
Honestly, when I first saw the trailer, I also felt a strange mix of emotions.
But now that I've had time to think about it, it looks like it would be just as good as any other Zelda title.
But here's the interesting thing; If a console title (Wind Waker) inspired a portable one (Phantom Hourglass), could it go the other way as well?
Could the next Zelda for the Wii be set outside of a medival setting?
Honestly, I can see it working; a few large settlements with large tracks of land seperating them, with scheduled trains running between them. Like in Galaxy, it would allow Nintendo to "split up" sections of Hyrule, alowing for greater graphics between them.
Beedle could travel around on the rails with a pump-cart, and with the right tweaking you'd actually have to purchase supplies while on your journey, without it being a trek all the way back to town.
There could be some quite action filled sequences where Link fights enemies on top of the cars of the train, and some beautiful panoramas while traveling (Just imagine traveling up Death mountain)
Anyone else see how awesome this could be? Or does anyone out there think the very concept of link on rails is a sin against nature?
