If it were possible, Adolf Hitler. Sure, I don't know him and I don't like him, but all I'd have to do is yell "I've got Adolf here and one wrong move and he gets it!" and I'd be okay for the rest of the war.
But if it'd have to be a buddy, well, I'd pick my cousin Andy. He'll probably be good at helping me survive

Yannis, he'd shield bash them to death.

But srsly, I'm an Aussie so I'm possibly doomed at Gallipoli, I'll let all my mates go elsewhere and take some knob with me to doom.

Assmuing they're also stuck with Gallipoli, I'd take Yannis, he's just too awesome to not have in battle. At least he'd have good humour about dying for our country.

Also, I don't know how to word it at all but I wanted to mention that while we're all having a good ol' laugh about who we'd take to war, we should remember that alot of good men and women died in WWII. Sorry for being a bit of a downer, but keep it in mind guys.

Actually, a friend and I have already agreed that if some sort of war starts and our whole generation gets drafted, that we'll have each other's backs. I am about as serious about this as a Canadian born in 1988 can possibly be.

you have just been drafted( /involuntarily volunteered. ) back in 1940 ( round and about )
for the second world war!

and you get to bring a buddy.
so escapists? who ( real persons only, people you know preferably ) do you want next to you in your foxhole when the crafty allies/zealous germans ( whichever takes your fancy ) start shooting at you?

i personally would like my friend Thasnor next to me, and he'd better bring rifle XD
( id'go for a BAR or a light mg42(drum fed ) myself, depending on what side we are on ofcourse.
( id follow him like he's a miners canary, he has this way of being on the winning side XD )

edit: since no one wants to throw their mates in the cacky with them ( go escapists!, honorable buch ;) )
imagine them already having to go, but you get to keep em close.
this is a stupid idea, you may have heard of the 'pals battalions' of WW1 these encouraged people to join because their freinds were joining too. problem is when someone you dont give a shit about gets shot it can be hard to deal with but when its your closest friends it can drive you to insanity

so id rather have someone im not too keen on if i was to go into battle

My mate Brad. We always have good times, even throgh all of the crap and flak, so we'll keep each other sane through the horror of war.

Weapon wise, I'd prefer to be deployed with a longrifle of somekind. I'm a pretty good shot and I'm quite good at hiding.

My ex-girlfriend. Pretty much the only thing that can redeem her in my eyes is taking a bullet for me. >_>

My friend Yodey, he's already good and desensitized, so he would have no problem killing, in fact he would probably even enjoy it...

And he's pretty tough, too.

I'd take my grandgather who was actually in the war, we'd fly a b-17, eventually get shot down, bail out, get sent to a POW camp and spend the rest of the war either trying to escape and make moonshine in our spare time or try to sabotage the germans in a manner similar to Hogan's Heroes.

Probably my friend Matt, he at one point tried to join the navy so war would be all right for him.

...And i'll get a cushy desk job thirty miles behind the front lines. :p

The person who posted above me.

Then I get them and the person they brought. My odds are looking better already.

P.S. continue the chain and our unit could be infinite!
