Search Bar approved. If this has been done before, sorry, but you can't say I didn't try.

So, pretty much the title. Any little misspellings that, for whatever reason, kinda piss you off?

Me, I'd have to go with people who spell definitely with an a. Definately, definitaly, or the best, defiantly. I usually don't get too concerned when people spell badly, after all, it's what they're saying that counts. This one always irks me, though.

there are some quirky things i do when i try to spell, but i can't remember any of them right now. Suffice it to say i hate motor muscle memory. My fingers have learned how not to spell certain words, and i keep it up no matter how much i know they're spelled differently

I always confuse "where" and "were" whenever I write papers and I hate it.
The fact that I'm conscious about it , despite knowing when each word is used, is what really pisses me off though.

Not so much spelling mistakes but your/you're and there/their/they're. Whenever these are put in the wrong context I get wound up. I'm not buying the 'it's easier to put your instead of you're' excuse.

"Wierd" irks me to no end. Also, when people write "I should of" instead of "I should have", I yell at them inside my head for being a moron.

To be fair, people usually pronounce it "should of."

This one though... Yeah, they sound the same, but most English teachers try pretty hard to keep you from confusing them. And yet, people do it all the time.

the people who leave the "h" off of the word yeah. it wouldn't bother me so much if people didn't try to say I'm wrong for spelling it right.

I actually used to spell it wierd until a friend corrected me, luckily, I have since changed my jacked-up behavior.

and I have to agree with the misuse of you're, your, there, their, and they're... I make a point of picking it out, especially if the person making the mistake is being a tool in the first place.

I know what you mean. I know the difference between "Then" and "Than" (first is used for time, i.e "And then...", second is used for comparison, i.e "more blank than..."), and, although it doesn't really annoy me when people get it wrong and I never call people out on it (unless they say that they don't know the difference), people are always telling me I'm wrong.

I get put off by American spellings a lot.

Also, anytime someone mistakes the little words. 'their/they're/there; effect/affect; your/you're' and so on and so forth.

I defiantly agree.

I also can't stand the they're/their/there mistakes.

You'd spell that pronunciation "should've", wouldn't you?

I hate when people confuse "here" and "hear". Along with their/there/they're, your/you're and were/we're.

EDIT:

Oh, indeed. There is no such thing as "aluminum".

EDIT AGAIN: "Amirite?". No, you are not.

Regardless, if we allow that sort of buggery then "thawt" becomes an acceptable spelling of thought. Same goes for "laff", "rot" and "sieyuntz".

And I WOULD completely bugger up my post.

I hate the replacing of "have" with "of" in English (IE you would of loved it vs. you would've/would have loved it)

If you're referring to the quotation at the top, just edit it, replacing the end tag with "[ /quote ]". Without the quotation marks and the spaces, obviously.
