Should've, could've, and would've bother me because technically, they're not even words. They're slurred words that most of society have accepted. Even the spell checking for this post is accepting would've. WHF!!!
I believe "would've" is an accepted contraction of "would have", same as can't, where the apostrophe signifies one or more missing letters.spacepope22 said:Should've, could've, and would've bother me because technically, they're not even words. Speaking of which, people who think it's "yay or nay". For the love of God, it's yea.snowcone69 said:When people write, "ya" instead of yeah(or yea depending on how you spell it).

those annoy me to no end, however, there are only like 9 people in my entire town who know who Siegfried is anyway. GO XANTAN
Those are constraints, not words. Should have (should've), would have(would've), could have(could've.)spacepope22 said:Should've, could've, and would've bother me because technically, they're not even words. I do the same thing but i usually go back and correct it.3nimac said:I also lack the habit of capitalizing the "I", if you haven't noticed... Its just a bother, lol. Hope that doesn't get on anyone's nerves.
Hmm. I have never noticed that I have been saying should of instead of should have. I learned something today.Soviet Razor said:"Wierd" irks me to no end. Also, when people write "I should of" instead of "I should have", I yell at them inside my head for being a moron.
Having "definitely" as your pet-peeve misspelling is unfortunate: I believe it is the word misspelled most, at least in the US.-Stranger- said:Search Bar approved. If this has been done before, sorry, but you can't say I didn't try.
So, pretty much the title. Any little misspellings that, for whatever reason, kinda piss you off?
Me, I'd have to go with people who spell definitely with an a. Definately, definitaly, or the best, defiantly. I usually don't get too concerned when people spell badly, after all, it's what they're saying that counts. This one always irks me, though.
This is what irks me far more than any actual misspelling: insistence that British/American spelling is wrong wrong wrong out of some misplaced sense patriotic elitism.Datalord said:But it shouldn't be, the u serves no purposeStormz said:Colour is the real spelling.Datalord said:Colour
