Should've, could've, and would've bother me because technically, they're not even words. They're slurred words that most of society have accepted. Even the spell checking for this post is accepting would've. WHF!!!

Not so much a spelling thing, but when people say "aks/axe" instead of "ask" or "excape" instead of "escape" or generally replace "sk" with "x/xc/ks".

But I can't fucking stand it when people don't capitalize "I" repeatedly or just don't acknowledge the existence of the shift key. It's all the worse when they use full words, because then it's not a huge stretch to the shift key if you're already typing out full words.

Oh, and seeing your/you're always pisses me off.

Specifically on the internet: When people type "y" instead of "yes"

IT'S TWO LETTERS!

I believe "would've" is an accepted contraction of "would have", same as can't, where the apostrophe signifies one or more missing letters.

I'm always spelling THE as TEH or EHT when I'm typing quickly, just a weird quirk of the hand.

When people write, "ya" instead of yeah(or yea depending on how you spell it). That really irritates me.

Noone, defiantly, rediculous, improper use of apostrophe s (tattoo's, hot dog's, etc.)

Not knowing how to use their, there and they're, to or too, thinking a lot is one word...

That covers the worst of them.

Actually nothing irks me that much except for when people do it on purpose. I can't spell and often write things phonetically so I never even notice when sometime is misspelled.

I thought my English skillZ were fine until i turned on the spell checker included in Firefox, just for fun. I was shocked at how many mistakes i make. :( Used to make, that is! :p

Personally i don't care for spelling mistakes in places where they really don't matter, like forum posts. News articles and such, of course, bother me, but not so much i wanna rage, or even report.

I also lack the habit of capitalizing the "I", if you haven't noticed... Its just a bother, lol. Hope that doesn't get on anyone's nerves.

Those are constraints, not words. Should have (should've), would have(would've), could have(could've.)

"Wierd" irks me to no end. Also, when people write "I should of" instead of "I should have", I yell at them inside my head for being a moron.
Hmm. I have never noticed that I have been saying should of instead of should have. I learned something today.

OT: I hate people who say lol. I know its an acronym but it annoys the hell out of me. Say ha or something else. Also, let me think for a sec. Im drawing a blank. Ill get back to you.

Its and It's when editing my company writings.

Its = Belonging to it (used as a possessive adjective). "I had a dog and its nose was black."

It's = Contraction of it is. "What time is it? It's Hammertime!"

The main reason it bugs me is that our style guide tells us not to use contractions like it's in the first place. The fact "it's" is in any writing already should raise red flags.

Search Bar approved. If this has been done before, sorry, but you can't say I didn't try.

So, pretty much the title. Any little misspellings that, for whatever reason, kinda piss you off?

Me, I'd have to go with people who spell definitely with an a. Definately, definitaly, or the best, defiantly. I usually don't get too concerned when people spell badly, after all, it's what they're saying that counts. This one always irks me, though.
Having "definitely" as your pet-peeve misspelling is unfortunate: I believe it is the word misspelled most, at least in the US.

This is what irks me far more than any actual misspelling: insistence that British/American spelling is wrong wrong wrong out of some misplaced sense patriotic elitism.

Fun fact: British English has evolved just as much as American English has since the separation of the two dialects. Colour is no more correct or valid than Color (or vice versa), and elitism concerning something as trivial as the presence or absence of a single letter in a lexicon is as petty as deriding someone for having a different accent. Get over yourselves.

In order to actually contribute, though, I may as well mention that although I hold myself to a high standard in both grammar and spelling, I've little problem with others misspelling. What I do dislike, however, is sheer laziness. Spelling atrociously because you can't be bothered indicates to me how little you wish to express yourself clearly.
