oka. For hte female idea. Make a good friend that lived in a different city. somehwere kinda close maybe even a same city. But, something like that. if your main character isnt female that is.
in my oppinioin you shouldn't base it off of the show, you should base it off of the manga. the manga has a hug accult following online, and would be easyer to replicate then the show would be

Its... its somewhat more involved. And its a bit.. edgier. I read the pikachu adventures things and when ash met pikachu, he got attacked and was bleeding at the end of the attack. its the darker side, kinda.

It's starting to seem like the best idea would be to follow a plotline that's similar to the games in a way. As in a new group of characters, with a far more open ended universe. It would just allow for a lot more plot development, and more freedom.emeraldrafael said:

They don't interact with the main guys BUT its set in the same universe because knowin no matter what you do being the real deal (like if your ash). You will piss off some fan boy somewhere HOWEVER you could always interact.

Read the Pokemon Special Manga (also called Pokemon Adventures) and try that for a plot. Thats the one with Red as the protagonist. Doing something original but still based on the games is fine in theory but it can get sticky kind of fast. Pokemon special can, if nothing else provide an outline to a good plot.

I'll just put this out there. Make the starter something that wasnt a starter. If you use ... oka, like the person said charmander, people will expect it to be about R/B/Y.
Make it... um... I dunno. make it an Oddish. its something different, and he's appeared in most of the games before the national dex. then if you have another protagonist, have him/her use a pokemon like... um... poochyena. Just so your audience doenst go in and see charmander, or turtwig, or totadile and say "oh! this is about _____ so you wont see pokemon like _____."

Alright, I'll track down the Manga and give it a good read. Already have a lot of things bouncing around my head.
sorry I didn't exsplain well. I was revering to the manga pokemon specail(sometimes called pokemon adventure) not the one based off of ash and Pikachu.

i know that the normal title song is good but it only works for the cartoon y will like a new title song, realistic pokemon please the pokemon dont look like the cartoon make them like dark pokemon on steroids, and please dont fuck it like USA make Dragonball Z
i know that the normal title song is good but it only works for the cartoon y will like a new title song, realistic pokemon please the pokemon dont look like the cartoon make them like dark pokemon on steroids, and please dont fuck it like USA make Dragonball ZI agree with everyone who says it should be based off the games not the anime, but my one request is that the legendary Pokemon should be included, and that the protagonist has approiately epic battles with them (and hopefully catches them). And of course, Mewtwo would be among them.
Just as an FYI: Cramming EVERYTHING in to one movie is a bad idea. Get yourself a montage of gym battles instead and focus on a few cities and major plot point events like letting go of pokémon and the like. Keep only the big gym battles that matter.
Well, remember that if you're targeting for adults:
1. Don't include any pokemon/characters outside of the original two (red and blue)
2. Don't make the main characters 10 year olds (Yes, I know that would be accurate to the original, but kids are annoying as hell.)
As an expansion on 2, maybe you could introduce some adult situations (IE: Rave, booze).
And make Team Rocket a bit less.... retarded...
