First off, RIP Fox X-men Universe's timeline. It was a good run.

But damn, I'm intrigued. They really are doing Old Man Logan, except instead of old Hawkeye we get old Patrick Stewa- I mean, Charles Xavier.

And Laura Kinney looks adorable. Looking forward to some old man/young child health regen metal claw bonanza carnage.

Lastly, some guy here on the site said that Logan's bloody knuckles are a sign that his powers are screwing up. I think that he might be on to something.

Why do I get a 'Last of us' feel from this?

It looks fine I'll give it that. But if this really is the last of the X-Men movies before Mavel rightfully takes them back, then I hope to God they threw Hawkeye in somewhere in the background or as an Easter egg. Just to let us know what's gonna' happen.

So you're saying all Aussies look alike? You just triggered me!

But in all seriousness, this movie has the Reavers, it's gonna have Sinister. I'm just guessing that there might be some timetravel or something at the end to undo whatever calamity killed all the mutants. Because the one Logan woke up to in DoFP was pretty promising. I'd like to know what happened to that, and reverting the past is a pretty common theme in the X-Verse. Maybe they'll touch on that with Cable when he's revealed. It's nice to see Laura finally show up in these movies. Ideally I'd like to see her in a more...modern setting where she might grow to replace Logan like she has in the books. But again, timetravel might just cover that. And this Mad Max style future would give her that scarred psyche that makes being The Wolverine so compelling.

Never been the biggest fan of Marvel movies(or superhero movies in general) but this looks pretty good. It kind of has a Chris Claremont/Marc Silvestri vibe which is the x-men run I used to read(and love) as a kid. The Reavers are one of my most favorite villains in the comic, espescially in x-men #251 where Pierce tortures Logan on that cross. I hope, hope we get to see the morlocks and the marauders as well(since it apparently has Sinister and Caliban). 'Mutant massacre' is one of my other favorite arcs in the x-men comic. Hope to see Lady Deathstrike as well(which is probably a given with the Reavers).

The main reason I lost interest in x-men is that they never came close to Claremont/Silvestri whom were so phenomenal together. They really elevated the superhero genre in a similar manner Miller did with Dark Knight Returns in my opinion. If Logan pays homage to this run(the best one ever in x-men history in my opinion) I'm a happy camper. :p

You know I have just forgotten that Hugh was an Aussie, probably because I thought he was of UK origin because of his portrayal in The Prestige. And sometimes, SOMETIMES its hard to tell the difference between Aussie accent and a British accent unless they have that blatently stereotypical accent of Australians

Hm, well fuck the Fox X-Men films into another hellish dimension, but I still rather liked and admired the very classy The Wolverine, so another decent, character driven solo Wolverine film's an okay consolation prize.

Maybe it's because he's getting old, so his regenerative powers are ailing as well.

Ironically Gibson was initially approached for Wolverine way back when, but declined apparently claiming he was too old.

OT: Looks okay, but you can't really be sure with these movies. Johnny Cash's 'Hurt' gives anything gravitas. That song is used entirely too often for trailers.

Colour me interested, and a little excited. It looks very promising.

It will be cool to finally see Wolverine's claws eviscerate people!

Hopefully they learned from The Wolverine and don't screw around with an established villain in a silly way.

And Hugh will get a solid chance to show his full range of acting ability, and not just grrrr's and gruff talk.

Gentle guitar soundtrack, heavily-wooded areas, post-apocalyptic scenery, grizzled guy on the run with a little tweener girl...

As soon as I heard that Johnny Cash, I just said, "fuck it. I am about to feel some shit", and oh my god did I FEEL!!!

GO PICTURE. I know a death scene will happen and I don't think I am ready for that yet. The tears man!!

At this point, using "Hurt" to trigger an emotional response should be considered cheating :^)

One thing that's certain: X-men aren't part of MCU, so we won't see inbred, cannibal hulks in this one. Haven't read the comic book, so not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Is the Claw going to be the bad guy? I think the Claw is going to be the bad guy. I guess they can't use him for a Black Panther origin story now.

People are getting The Last of Us vibes. I'm getting these vibes:
