The fact that oblivion doesn't have a random name generator annoys me. The fact that you even need to name your characters in a lot of games makes no sense since no one in the game ever refers to you by name even if all the dialogue is text based.
its for naming saves, so it is easier to find.

OT: Why is there ammo in the toilets in borderlands?

Fallout 3.
"Oh hey, I figured it'd be a good idea NOT to take you with me into the wasteland where all you regularly encounter is like...a few bugs, rats, dogs, a few raiders, Super Mutants, and occasionally a scorpion, where they are ALL piss easy to defeat, but to instead leave you trapped in one place with a paranoid near-over-the-edge psycho who's got an entire security force. Love ya!"
That's kind of why I enjoyed the chance to tell Liam Neeson to fuck off.
OH YEA, there's another one too, But this one is end of game, so don't read unless you don't plan on playing Fallout 3, or have already finished it.
Mrs.Whoever the fuck: Somebody has to go in there and start Project Purity and turn it on!
Me: Oh hey, Fawkes, that things flooded in Radiation, and I don't feel like being an idiot and dying, so you mind doing it for me cause you are immune?
Fawkes: NO, IT IS YOUR OWN DESTINY, AND I DON'T BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Me:Oh fuck you.

And this part, when you find Dad:
You take him back to rivet city, and all the scientists go to the PP building, then Liam Neeson says that they need you to clear it out, cause they aren't able to fight. What the fuck is that? I saw him beat a fucking death claw down with a lead pipe 15 minutes ago, and add to that he thought it was a good idea to send one guy down there WHO WAS HIS SON to fight for him even though he wouldn't take you into the wasteland cause he thought you couldn't make it. Also, I was fucking rolling in caps, why didn't he just ask to borrow some money so he could hire a security force?

Assassin's Creed. Altair stops momentarily to pick his nose. As he is doing such, some kind of zombie-thing shoves him into a guard. "OH SHIT! ASSASSIN!"
EDIT: And when people bleed more from a shot to the brain than one to the neck. (MW2)

I don't have time to read 11 pages of this thread, but has anybody mentioned the double-jump yet?

Why after 10 years there is still only ONE Master Ball.
haha I refute your accusation with proof

in G&S if you played the lucky number game and got all the numbers matched you would win a master ball
Touché, but you have to admit the odds are astronomically against your favor. The most numbers I had ever matched was two.

When a distractionary explosion goes off, wouldn't enemies send people to guard their important objective thingy rather than send ALL their people towards the explosion?

Prototype, the stationary infection sensors only detect Alex, any other infected is ignored.

The tanks will shoot you when they don't know it's you, just to hit one infected in a crowd of civilians.

The stationary detectors can point out which of the hundred identical soldiers is Alex, even though it has no screen or vocal signal.

The AI will always know which soldier you are, even if you flee half the city away and rejoin another group of soldiers there. I really doubt they got close enough to look at my dog tag.

Actually, most of Prototype's AI is a logic fail, though I did like the story. It made sense in a very convoluted sort of way. Although Alex could've just broken in to Gentech and talked to McMullen by running up the side of the building at the very beginning of the game and thereby stopping the entire infection from advancing by not freeing Elisabeth.

In Dragon Age: Origins how you can only have 4 party members, including yourself, rather than most games system of 5 members. this bugs me because there are select members you NEED so that means that another aspect of the party is spread thinly more often than not.

Also, ammo systems in FPS's. You have a certain number of rounds, not magazines. Reloading and throwing away an entire magazine because you fired 1 bullet and now know your safe isnt efficient ammunition usage. Your total pool of bullets wouldn't drop by one. It would drop my a magazine's worth.
There are a couple of FPSes that use the magazine system and it's pretty much universally irritating so most games stick with the bullet pool total. If you come from other FPSes where you learn to reload whenever you have the chance it can get really annoying when you waste 25 bullets after firing 5. It is extremely illogical to have the bullet pool though unless you've got a revolver or something.

OT: When fighting a group of enemies in a lot of games (Assassin's Creed 2, Bourne Conspiracy etc.) they'll only attack one at time instead of ganging up on you and beating the tobacco juice out of you like they would in real life.

In any game, movie, play or radio performance when the protagonist encounters the villain early on and, instead of shooting him in the face like they're going to do in 20 levels, they banter back and forth about who's going to get who and that they've got to be stopped. The bad things he/she did wouldn't have happened if you weren't a long winded jackass. It'd make the game pretty short though I guess.

You can verbally Smack down someone then dismiss them, say hi and they act like they just saw you - Some RPGs
Running around and shoot a full clip of Barrett 50. Cal in 2 Seconds. - CoD4 Mostly, Kinda in MW2
Ummm, Oh YEAH
A swift punch from is stronger then A revolver bullet that explodes Upon penetration.... Wut?

Master Chief can apparently do a pistol-whip more forceful than the pistol actually firing.
That one can actually be explained away by his spartan armour as it is meant to allow him more strength than a normal human. Although I have to wonder how his armour can survive re-entry and landing, with it's only downfall being it locks up

when the other characters sit on there ass and send only you to save the day (red faction , mercs 2) ... and in gta 4 , the cops only seem to see you break the law and chase you ... in fallout 3 how the enemy has better perception than me and better targeting too

That in Call of Duty point blank bullets will hardly kill someone, but a single knife slash kills you instantly 100% of the time, no questions asked.

In pretty every fps game ever, people can take a ridiculous amount of bullets and still stay standing.

In the left4dead games, who left all this ammo just lying about? And who set up the safe rooms? O:
And WHY can't we stay in the safe room? Its got food and water for at least a week!!

Or why every evil organization seems to rely on zubat and rattata for security detail.
Or why in a world where projectile weapons definitely exist, everyone except this guy seems set on solving absolutely all interpersonal conflicts by way of elaborate pit fights between carefully trained pets.

I'd pick pit fights with large dragons that would bring me a sandwich if I told them to over guns in my face any day of the week.

Except Sunday, but that's a long story.

You are wearing a shirt and jeans, yet can still take about 30 bullets (even to the head) without dying. Then you regenerate after being shot. However, armored targets can only take one or two shots to the head, and die quite quickly without regenerating health.
