Face it. In a game, you're going to die.
If you have never died in a game don't say a damn thing! Go make a youtube video and show us all how its done so in 9 months we can search it because we're missing an achievement or something!

Erm.. where was I? Oh yeh.

So let us explore and celebrate our best and worst gaming deaths!

Are we a fan of watching cutsie pinatas getting beaten with sticks while children cheer.
A Cut scene or a quick-time event gone wrong?
Does watching Lara Croft's nimble body getting impaled and crushed turn you on? ... ...
...
Maybe you just like a good old explosion with a few limbs flying about the place.
Or Alternatively. Anything you particularly like to kill?

So.. Death. What of it ya'll?

The swing glitch in GTA 4 is always a great way to die.. End up with your back broken along a skyscraper.

Remember the old tactical nuclear strike you could have in Command & Conquer?

That's my favorit death.

Just masses and masses of small GDI infantry, and then one big pile of cinder. Mwahah.

I like jumping off the side of buildings in shooters, sometimes I get a suicide contest going with other people.

Most recently, Call of Duty Black Ops single player.
Turn corner. Die.
Made sure I killed everyone in one long corridor, finally get to the exit. Get shot in the back. Die.
Hide behind cover quite a distance away from my teams making sure I don't shoot my gun or draw attention to myself. Die.

I prefer not to die in games... That said, if its inevitable I'm going to die (ie I hear the click of a claymore, or that grenades been at my feet a tad too long) I like to go out in style. If theres an explosion involved you just have to jump and be thrown like a ragdoll. I've found my body in an online game of CoD and it had been blown into a chair. Other times its been completely folded at the waist, arms and legs pointing one way, arse the other.

I think whenever you walk over a ton of sticky bombs in Team Fortress 2 and go flying instead of blowing up is awesome.
2Fort's map boundaries mean nothing when you're a Scout that has a nack for being drawn towards grenades.

Getting eaten.
Be it the zombie classic or a big dinosaur from an alternate dimension, it's always fun to watch your tiny caracter dissapear and know that he/she/it will get eaten.

Then there is the good old falling of a cliff. That scream that most caracters seems to do is sometimes hillarious (depending on the voiceactor).

I like watching me attempt suicide every night and fail

Oh wait, in a game? One of my favourites is being punched off a building by the tank in left 4 dead.
Another good way is to try and fly 2 Boeing 747s into each other on Just Cause 2. My last one has got to be this

I prefer the unexpected deaths, the ones that you really never intend or even comprehended, whether it was sensible or not....

Perfect example, I was in Dalaran for the first time, and I was running through the sewer and then BAM! It was gone and I was falling VERY quickly....the guy on Skype got a good kick of me freaking the hell out...

I didn't die, but on with the story:

I'm at the part in Fallout 3's main story when you're storming the GNR Plaza with the Brotherhood of Steel near the beginning of the game.

So, using a Hunting Rifle (FTW) I shot a Super Mutant who was standing on the second floor of a building.

For some reason, his ragdoll pinwheeled, and he hit the ground, flipped the bird to gravity, and flew into the air, still pinwheeling.

I Wanna be the Guy...
it's around the third scene and I'm thinking "Ok, this cloud is going down, that one should go down too."
*Jump on cloud*
Cloud flies up and impales me on to a few over hanging spikes..

The deaths in Dead Space 1 and 2 are so ridiculously over-the-top but very fun to watch.

I find it odd that games each treat dying so differently. Most games don't seem to give a shit: 'you died, never mind, just go again'; games like Halo, CoD and more importantly, Super Meat Boy, make dying seem like part of your daily routine. And then there are other games where dying is something major (which if you think about it, it really should be) like in Metroid Prime. The death sequence in those games creeps me out a bit.

One day I was hunting fish in Resident Evil 4, when this happened :D

Oh, I love that one.

On the RE4 subject, I thought decapitation by thrown scythe was cool. I can't find a good video of it, but it goes though your neck like buddah (butter).
