Yet, the coffee flavored icecream milkshake is still the onlything overpriced here.

... Ew.

I mean, whatever floats your boat, I suppose. But... ew. That sounds super unsexy to me.

Our laws are a bit weirder over here regarding sex work, so I suppose it depends if the law decides whether or not it's technically a brothel. I do wonder if this would be more profitable for the women themselves, though. I suppose they wouldn't have to go looking for customers, but also they're only getting a bit of the 50quid pricetag, rather than all of it.
I'd assume this is aimed more at businessmen/high-powered executives (due to the price and the location they're planning (near expensive hotels and transit stations)) which isn't that far from the stereotype.

I mean, stockbrokers in Wall Street snort lines of adderal and cocaine just to get through the day, and as spectacular as the Wolf of Wall Street was, it wasn't highly fictionalised.

OT: I know some people who'd want to try it for the giggle. If isn't illegal, then sure, go ahead lol.

Now I think of it, If I don't drink a coffee, should I have a discount?

Everyone before me mentioned about STD's, showering, and other concerns but mine would be if you're allowed to climax or where can you do so if otherwise.
Uh... I'd assume you're allowed to climax. 50... pounds? Quid? 50 British Dollars is a pretty steep fee for blue balls.

As for where... seems pretty obvious. It is a fellatio cafe.

Sounds good to me. Don't want to get hooked on 50 pound coffees though. I prefer having a home system for such things.

My only question is: why a coffee shop?

If I've had a crappy enough day that I'm willing to pay a hot woman for a BJ, I'd prefer a whiskey or a beer to go along with it. Or is combining booze and prostitution illegal?

Okay you can just get a hooker for 50 quid so I'm not seeing the appeal here.
50? Damn. I am paying too much for my... er... therapy sessions. Damn London. Gentrifying pros... I mean, personal physical therapy.

Hey? If people are willing to spend over $7 for coffee, then you might as well add a blowjob on the side. Supply and demand mofos. Dont hate the player. Hate the horny twisted game.

Bill Maher had a pretty funny New Rule about this last night. "What's the point of the coffee?! No man ever has said they wanted fellatio but please wait until I've had my coffee."

Pretty funny.

I'm more interested in hearing about what they are gonna offer these sex workers. 401k? Health? Dental?
It's the UK ... they've never heard of dental.

In all seriousness, sex workers in the UK have pension support, and everybody has socialized medicine.
Sex workers in the UK have pension support - ha ha ha, who told you that? Because they really, really don't. They do in Holland where brothels are legal. The only way you'd get a State pension in the UK is if your employer made your national insurance contributions and as your employer would be a pimp, which is illegal, they wouldn't do that. You might be able to claim self employment of some form but I think it would be fair to say most don't have the know how or opportunity to setup a fake company.

Prostitution is illegal in the UK. This cafe, if it ever opens, which I very much doubt, will last about 10 minutes before being shut down after being taken to court and ruled a brothel. It would just be bad policy to let it remain open.

All in all, there is a lot of disinformation in this thread - yes paying for sex is not illegal in the UK but practically the approach of law enforcement means to all intents and purposes they will arrest you one way or another, the system is enforced so that the prostitutes are not criminalise but those who use them are.. they legally work back from that point to get the result required.

As a rule of thumb, never trust the Independent.

They're still eligible for the pension, I thought? I thought all British subjects could access pension when over a certain age. Over here, sex workers have their own state union. The reps are nice, and less org-crime filled than most others. Good ol' Scarlet Alliance. Pretty sure in Australia they also have an industry superfund.

I honestly thought we just imported our sex worker legalisation from the UK, but apparently not. We usually either carbon copy our laws from the French or the UK ...

Sounds cool! Odd combination though, like, why combine coffee and blowjobs? I get tired after orgasm, and coffee makes me more awake, so like, they kinda cancel each other out, don't they? Maybe the coffee just isn't selling very well so they need to connect it to the blowjobs to sell more coffee.

Everyone is mate, you are right up to a point... but it's as long as they have a demonstrable national insurance payment record through employment or self employment:

Here - https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance/overview

"1. Overview
You pay National Insurance contributions to qualify for certain benefits including the State Pension.

"You pay National Insurance if you?re:

16 or over
an employee earning above ?155 a week
self-employed and making a profit of ?5,965 or more a year

You need a National Insurance number before you can start paying National Insurance contributions"

You need an NI number (which anyone traffiked or illegally in the country won't have, certainly not all pros fall in this category but I'd posit (entirely without evidence) a disproportionately high number do) and either you make payments if self employed, or you and your employer make payments if employed.

As organised sex work is illegal no employer contributions will be made so the pro would have to claim self employment, create a company, declare a profit over ?5965 for some fictitious legal activity... and keep that up for 30 years give or take; any extended gaps and you get a reduced pension...

And, assuming they can achieve this they would get.... ?119.30 (currently) a week.

The UK State pension is, like all UK state benefits, crumbling under the ever growing number of people claiming them sadly.

Australian sex industry laws are humane and enlightened compared to the horrific legal fudge we have. I suspect you may have copied the Dutch model which similarly mature and sensible.

The socialised medicine is true though! Not sure for how long but it is as of now! :)
