Dear GOD though, when they say "LONG" war, they MEAN long.

The first mission took me over an hour. Hit percentages in the 10s and 20s everywhere. 55% on a bastard I was FLANKING.

And I'm sad that True Concealment is not compatible with Long War 2. :s Which is really sad, because having as many turns as I wanted to set up that initial ambush and then dealing with the turn limit after that felt perfect.

No...no, I can't! Don't make me!

I'm only, like, 60 hours into Crusader Kings 2, I don't want to stop now when I've finally grasped the basics.

...I'll have to play it now. But it will have to wait until I finish with CK2 - I don't like juggling multiple games, especially ones that require strategy and planning.

Bought XCOM 2 from Humble Bundle for 12$ and been playing it for over 40 hours already, fantastic game. I've installed Long War 2 Mod but haven't played it much for now so i can't say if its actually good or not but i suppose the first is the case.
Time is just melting away when playing XCOM 2 it's unbelievable.

Question. The guys that made it have six other Long War mods for XCOM 2 on the workshop. Are they included in the official Long War 2 mod, or are designed to be installed alongside it?

As far as i know all other Long War mods are included but don't quote me on that. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Edit: The writer of the article for rockpapershotgun says that all the other mods by the team are included so i guess thats the confirmation.

Included. Disable the originals or they'll conflict.

Currently re-downloading Xcom 2 alongside Long War. I personally only played a few hours of Xcom 2 as I just couldn't get into it (and it ran like crap, so hopefully many updates later performance is a bit better). Didn't play the first LW but played god knows how many games of EU and EW on PC, Xbox and Iphone, so hopefully LW2 is the fresh experience I wanted.

Also, it looks like that it's also compatible with all the DLC. Is any of it worth it, and does LW2 make the DLC's better? I did love the MEC's in EW and the Sparks look just like that, but most of the reviews for them seem to be negative.

Oh good point, are the alien king or w/e there called which play by different rule in LW? With 12 unit on the field those would be really ridiculous.

Spark DLC is worth it, IMO. The other two are questionable.

If you have performance problems turn AO to tile only, and turn vsync and bloom off. Game should run smoothly.

About 8 hours into LW2 now and I have become addicted. I have a bunch of customisation mods too as well. I get the feeling my ass will be kicked as I haven't played Xcom 2 properly before, but for now I am having a lot of fun managing multiple squads and bases.

I just bought the DLC too, looks like they can be activated mid game, you just don't get the extra missions, which I will save for another playthrough.

Performance is fine now. Dropped thinks to a mix of medium and low shadows, and 720p resolution. Runs great now, and still looks better than the last game on max.

Yo, question.

When leveling up your troops in LW2 does it show you all the future perks right from the start?

I saw some gameplay footage in which it did, but the person who recorded it was running a ton of mods so I don't know if that's standard.

Default, no, but I do believe that's an in-game Long War 2 option.

Ah, righto. Found it.

For some reason more options are available after you start a campaign than in the main menu. Probably a technical limitation.

Yeah that was the case with the Perk Pack too. Something janky about the way XCOM2 is coded vs the first game, you can only access the Long War/Second Wave option from inside a campaign.

Hidden Potential is wrecking me. I've got a sniper who couldn't hit the ocean if he was shooting from the pier. I just use him to holotarget things.

This may be of use to some people here.

It's a basic overview of Long War 2 by one of the playtesters. Some good tips.

I'll keep it in mind, but I'm still getting my bearings in the base game. I'm not sure I've got enough experience to handle the expected difficulty spike just yet.

As long as you keep infiltrating the mission at 100+ percent you should be fine with enemy count on extremely light.

My biggest problem is the income of supplies but i will have to work it out somehow/watch tutorials.

So, I'm tempted to reload X2 and play it, because of the chatter about this mod.

My question to you all is:

What is the best class, in your opinon, to make into a psi-operative?

I fell in love with them, and rocked a full psi team for the last half or so of my first playthrough. I plan on doing it again, but getting them sooner in the timeline. But I'm not sure which class, gels best with their powers.

I was thinking perhaps Ranger, for the added movement, and ability to maintain stealth longer. But I'm not sure. I like fiddling with team makeups, and was considering rocking a full Ranger team, with Psi powers, and just have them phasing through buildings to knife a guy, and then psi bomb another group before fading away.

Any thoughts on the best class for a 1 Class Psi team concept?
