Does anyone know if the annoying "elite" aliens still periodically show up? Because them having a turn after every freaking action was complete BS.
Nice, will likely start a campaign tonight then.BloatedGuppy said:Only if you enable the DLCSonmi said:Going to get my ass kicked, and like it.

Is there a new Psi op mechanic in the mod or are you thinking about the ones from the previous XCOM? Because in XCOM 2 the psi ops are an entire separate class that you take a Rookie and train into, not an addition over one of the other classes.Happyninja42 said:What is the best class, in your opinon, to make into a psi-operative?
I seem to recall you could take classes that weren't just rookies, and they retained their previous skill lines? Maybe I'm misremembering, but I could've sworn that's how it worked, as it determined what type of weapon they could use. It's been a while since I played X2 so I might be totally wrong, can't recall.DoPo said:Is there a new Psi op mechanic in the mod or are you thinking about the ones from the previous XCOM? Ah, sorry no, was thinking that's how X2 did it. Like I said, it's been a while since I played it, so my memory of the fine details are shoddy.DoPo said:That's how it worked in the previous game.Happyninja42 said:I seem to recall you could take classes that weren't just rookies, and they retained their previous skill lines? You got me excited for a second, I thought it was something that LW2 added here.
Yes, but the inverted difficulty curve is gone. Long War starts "easy" <cough, cough> and rapidly gets heinous.Meiam said:There was a similar mechanic in XCOM enemy within (the expansion of the previous one by firaxis) where you could make character into mech and they'd gain a specific skill based on what class they were, so that might have been it.
Are psi opt still in LW2? They were so ridiculously OP in the base game that they really contributed to the last part of the game being a cakewalk.
So far I have been enjoying it... got murdered on first couple of missions twice, then flawless-ed them and now slowly realising I can't respond to anything like every missionBloatedGuppy said:Yes, but the inverted difficulty curve is gone. Pretty sure some Dark Events are hidden and sap your supplies, better start looking for it, mate.QuiteEnjoyed2016 said:Edit - does anyone know where all my income is going, is there some dark event hidden somewhere?
It's great! I stormed in all "I've completed Xcom 2 on ironman, how hard can this be?" and promptly team wiped twice on mission 2. Should have probably read about infiltration...Sonmi said:Well shit, got my first game over in LW2. Really loving this shit so far.

Haha! Not reading about infiltration also led to my first team-wipe as well. Nothing to be ashamed of there.QuiteEnjoyed2016 said:It's great! Bastards, how am I meant to equip 20+ soliders when they nick my income! I will find them.
One word. Faceless. You'll be eventually getting a security breach mission where you deal with some infiltrators.QuiteEnjoyed2016 said:So far I have been enjoying it... got murdered on first couple of missions twice, then flawless-ed them and now slowly realising I can't respond to anything like every missionBloatedGuppy said:Yes, but the inverted difficulty curve is gone. Save-scumming in a game like XCOM is literally immoral if you want my opinion.erttheking said:So I've been playing it for some time and I'm saving scumming like a *****. Lots of frustration, I really like it, but I need to take breaks every once in awhile just to keep my blood pressure from going through the roof.
Well, I don't. Thank you for sharing, but I really don't. If I wanted to play on Ironman, and I have in the past, I'd turn on Ironman.Sonmi said:Save-scumming in a game like XCOM is literally immoral if you want my opinion.erttheking said:So I've been playing it for some time and I'm saving scumming like a *****. It's the only way I feel I'd be able to succeed in LW2 though, to be honest, I'm getting my ass kicked on Ironman.
