I was watching the Loading Ready Run episode where they try to stay up 48 hours and it led me to wonder if any of you have stayed up 48 hours or later or have done something funny while trying to stay up, like in the video where they start acting wacky from lack of sleep. My personal record is that I have stayed up 2 days straight, although i wasn't trying to stay up, I just couldn't get to sleep.

A little over 48 hours. I slept like a rock when I did finally get to sleep.

I feel you on that. After being awake for 72 hours, I went to take a nap. I woke up at what I thought was an hour later for super, only to find out I had slept for 25 hours straight.

I missed some fine television programming (back in the day, when we had no way to watch stuff if you missed it) and chicken pot pie dinner.

I LOVE chicken pot pie.

Somewhere around fifty hours.

Let's just say that I was a little... loopy after that. Ever seen the Shining?

I think it was about 4 days with no sleep and not enough food. It was a really crazy sort of weekend that was in Hamburg...and sort of debauched...and ended up with me singing with a cruise ship band...

And of course I've pulled twop all nighters in a row multiple times during college and college..

And I never died. This is why I never believe those mysterious stories of: Unnamed guy in China plays World of Warcraft for 24 hours and dies!

There was this one time i read all 600 replies of each of the other insomnia\night owl\omgmeth threads. Good god, theres so many of them. I started seeing flashing symbols and little spinning characters and the letter G turned into the letter C.

Trippy shit, man.

I went for around three days without more than 20 minutes of "sleep" while I was working nights once. By then end I was nearly hallucinating and could barely discern the difference between reality and my imagination. Wasn't particularly fun.

About 32 hours. I did it because my sleeping schedule sucked, so I stayed up, and went to sleep at a reasonable hour the next day.

Then, a week later I lost my pattern of going to bed at 10:00PM and waking up at 9:00AM, because my sisters boyfriends son kept badgering me while I was trying to sleep.

Probably 36-40 hours. There was a night last summer which I simply did not sleep for one minute. Then I went to work in the morning, had a normal day, and then had a normal night afterward. Why I didn't sleep that night is a long story, so I'm just going to leave it at saying it was the worst experience I've ever had with another human being.

The longest I've gone without sleep was probably around 36 hours. I was in a plane travelling to Japan (12 hour flight) and couldn't sleep.
