Pain week turned into pain month that year.

EDIT: I like how when you put it in hrs instead of days it sounds so much longer.

I once went about 48-60 hours without sleep, I'm not entirely sure, I got kinda loopy and couldn't really remember what was going on near the end. Mostly just to see how long I could go without sleep.

All I can remember from that experience is that 4am is a rather boring time to be awake.

My friend and his dad have bad times when they're up for a week. It's really bad for them, I'm sure. XD

Me? er.. I pulled an all-nighter two Black Fridays ago and I still fell asleep in the car for 15 minutes.

Ohwell, it keeps me healthy. When everyone I know dies at 80 I'll be alive and kickin' at 100

36 hoursish, more or less.

I played Monopoly with a friend and mucked about with Yu-Gi-Oh cards to pass the time. Time really goes slowly when you play Monopoly.

I did just over 80 hours with a friend once when we were 16. We marathoned the X-Files and at the end watched Encino Man. Encino Man has never ever been as funny as that night let me tell you. My mate passed out and when I went to get a cup of water to throw on him to wake him up it was two days later and my mother had put me into bed after I fell asleep at the kitchen sink lol

It really wasn't that pleasant at the end. Like said before reality starts to twist. I couldn't do it now at all darn this aging thing.
How did you manage 80 hours? Were you trying to stay up or just happened to go into a really long movie fest?
This is a rather late reply but I've been away from my computer :( It started as a "let's stay up all night" thing then when we hit day two and weren't tired like we expected we just kept going. By Day 3 we figured "Hell we got this far..." We watched a looooot of X-Files in that it was in the days of VHS. We made a tower of the ones we watched in triumph!!

My brother said that even though you aren't asleep your body still produces the chemicals or whatever to wake you. I don't know if that's true but at like 5am everyday we'd suddenly peek up. At the end of a few days like many others are saying i'm pretty sure you go down as soon as you close your eyes...I really don't know how we made it to that fourth day...

When I had the shingles, the pain was so bad that I didn't sleep for 3 whole days. I started hearing music that wasn't playing I was so worn out.

Roughly around 80 hours is my longest, spent that time over at a friends doing nothing but playing games. Was a very fun time, especially playing Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms and having to wait 10 minutes after pushing his character into a fire for him to die so i could finish the game :p

You can die of a lack of sleep! A week apparently is the most the body can handle before it just shuts down! I don't know how those of you who did a week did it without serious consequences!!
My cousin went to the doctor once when he was getting like 2-3 hours of sleep then working and trying to maintain some form of social life, doctor said that if he didn't start getting more sleep he would die from exhaustion. So right after that he came over and slept for over 24 hours

About three days. Pulled two all nighters and decided not to jump into bed on the third morning in a weak attempt to try and preserve what little regularity my body-clock has. Strangely, when I finally got there that night, despite having zombie'd my way through the day it still took me two hours to get to sleep.

I've stayed awake for a good forty-seven hours on no more then Netflix and a two liter bottle of Dr.Pepper. It was alright, things got a little loopy the last few hours or so.

Now, concerning my brother who serving in Afghanistan as a Marine, first he had to endure the dreaded Crucible, a week with no sleep, little food, and abut seventy pounds on your back. He thought that was bad, he got shipped out to "The Sandbox" and a few times he's had to pull a week or two with out it... He didn't enjoy it.

Jeez that's insane. Your brother has some really high endurance
Hehe, it was either keep his eyes open or get an ear full from the DI or get his ass shot off... :p

I think about 36 hours. I remember when I was younger I could run off of 3-4 hours of sleep and have no repercussions, but now I don't even think I could last 24 hours, which isn't bad since prolonged periods without sleep isn't good for you anyway.

My record is something along the lines of 30ish hours and it's happened 3 times:

Once I was up all night at a friend's house and made it until 4pm that evening at which point I crashed.

Once I pulled an all-nighter to finish a project for class, only to succumb to a nap around 12pm.

Once I had an overnight shift at the dorm I worked at (12am to 12pm) and stayed completely awake with several cups of coffee until that evening when I crashed like two buses on an icy road.

I believe my record is 1pm one day until 10pm the next day.
