I got Resident Evil 5 the day it came out, got to the last boss and quit playing for six months because the last boss pissed me off so much.

Also, I had Call of Duty: United Offensive for about 3 years before I beat it. I got close to the end and forgot my directions and was lost so instead of trying to figure out how to do it I just played multiplayer. I played the multiplayer for 3 years and never beat it until just one day when I picked it up and promised myself I would beat it.

76 hours for FFX because my characters were extremely under lvled when I got to Yunalesca and it took forever to the right lvl to beat her...

The longest would have to be Pokemon Diamond. I currently training to beat the Elite Four and my save has about 100 hours on it now, not counting the one time I had gotten to Canalave City, put the game on hiatus for a month or two, came back and decided I wanted to get a fresh start.

The second longest is Fallout 3. My main save is currently at 70+ hours at level 30 with DLC (except The Pitt; budget issues). I tried starting another file, but I lost interest in it, after being so accustomed to being a glorious god of apocalypse-justice.

World of Warcraft... I can't be done.

But Oblivion, I must have used a good 200 hours before bothering to finish the main storyline, and I only did it because I would get some fancy dragon skin armor.

Probably Pokemon Ruby, well over 100 hours. I got bored of Fallout 3. I've spent about 70 hours in the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, trying to find every last thing.

EVE Online. 4933 hours and still going :)
Jesus christ. I hope you don't die of sleep deprivation, that'd be horrible.

OT: Anyways, I'd say my longest time to complete a game would be Pokemon Silver when it came out, took me a few months. I was younger then so time wasn't an issue.

So so so many games to put here a lot RPGs I presume this means play time so I'll just say my highest amount which is 1500ish a little lower on Guild Wars but that is a MMORPG(CORPG if you wanna be picky).

I would have to say Lunar: silver star story. I got it when I was young and it got to hard for me after a certain point. A few years later I was finally able to get over that hump and beat the game.

Hm... there's several I've never finished, but I'll go with Diablo 2 or Legend of Zelda: Ocarina or Time. Diablo 2 took a while but I can't remember a good estimate. OoT took me several weeks, but I'm not sure why (I can speed run it in a day).

Prototype, it got annoyingly cheap and repetitive at the same time, so I haven't bothered playing it since like two days after it came out. That's all I can think of.

Oh yea, I gave up on Ikagura's last boss on hard for about a month before forcing myself to do it.......AND I DID, STUPID FUCKING GAME, I BEAT YOU AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA. Ahem. I still have a mark below my nail that I clawed the shit out of out of frustration, I told my mum I slammed it in the door.

Does completing 100% of the Elder Scrolls IV count? Over 600 hours.
wow

OT: Spore, I have invested lots and lots of hours into that, and still no credits rolling down the screen

Yes wow.

100% of everything including Shivering Isles and Nights of the Nine side quests. I'd be surprised if someone did it any quicker.

I think it must be Heart of Darkness. I got it when I was 7 (I think,) and it was a bit too hard for me then (and scary besides,) so I put it away when I got stuck before I even were half-way through.

I didn't pick it up and complete it until maybe 3-5 years later... I don't remember exactly when....

but 600 hours is a lot of time
that's like 10 cents for an hour,
and for a experience like TES4 it's a great deal.

gotta think about the cash we are in a "economical recession" right now
