Does completing 100% of the Elder Scrolls IV count? Over 600 hours.
wow

OT: Spore, I have invested lots and lots of hours into that, and still no credits rolling down the screen
Yes wow.

100% of everything including Shivering Isles and Nights of the Nine side quests. I'd be surprised if someone did it any quicker.
but 600 hours is a lot of time
that's like 10 cents for an hour,
and for a experience like TES4 it's a great deal.

gotta think about the cash we are in a "economical recession" right now
It was even a better deal since I got it for 20 bucks. Fuck yeah! Best deal I've ever gotten. I usually judge game value by how long i can get enjoyment out of it.

I take the price of a movie ($7 for about 2 hours) and apply it to a game. Is that weird?

I don't know exactly how much play time I put into it, but beating Call of Duty: World at War on Veteran was painful. I was stuck at a few tough checkpoints for a couple weeks off-and-on each. Total time invested had to exceed 60 hours, which is crazy for an FPS.

i've logged somewhere about 900 hours into tales of symphonia and i'm still going
900/24 = 37.5 DAYS. That's one month solid play and then another week. Jesus.

Does it compare with 4000 Hours in EVE? Not really, but MMO's are built for eternal play, You don't have to work at avoiding the end, you can always just screw around. The whole game is just screwing around. Not really so in the case of Tales games.

Also no Persona or Disgaea yet? I would've thought those would be mentioned first.

Final Fantasy 8 took me a while. It took about 70 hours, but it was actually almost a year because I couldn't beat the last boss (I didn't know the true art of Junctioning). Once I found out how to do it, I went back and did it.

I spent so much time just leveling up and playing Triple Triad though. (I didn't play TT because I liked it, I played it so I could get the items to make the Lionheart).

Probably Final Fantasy X. Not because it was hard or anything, well I did have to restart it about a quarter of the way through the game. But I just wanted to find everything I possibly could and beat everything I possibly could before I beat it. I got the game in early 2002 and beat it the summer of 2003 haha.

I think it was a span of several years before I beat Ocarina of Time after starting it. (The water temple messed with my young-kid mind.) The longest it actually took me to JUST beat a game, however, was somewhere around 90+ hours. Star Ocean Till the End of Time. It is an accurate title.

Twilight Princess took me just over 2 years, can't remember exact amount of time. I borrowed it from a freind around the time of GCSEs well a few months before and just played it sporadically due to being rather busy and just general forgetfulness. Eventually just focused on finishing it and he will never let me live it down now.

Unfortunately there are quite a few games which i've never finished due to varies reasons.

no, you are just comparing apples to oranges
which is fine, Apples taste better anyway.

me and my cousin had I think 89 or so hours into Tales of Syphonia before we completed it. That is a long game.

I personally like oranges better, but to each's own...

Final Fantasy III took me 8 years mostly because I got stuck in the final dungeon, gave up and picked it up 7 1/2 years later when I was back from college, visiting my parents.

By the way, Super Nintendo games are amazingly durable.

but oranges take time to peel, and apples you can just eat straight away...

Forza Motorsport 2. I bought it when it came out in 2007 and finished about half the career, then I didn't touch it until recently and finally finished it last month.

About 30 hours the first time I finished Fallout 3 (then reloaded an earlier save and took another 20 hours with that character, with another 27+ hours at my current second playthrough of the GOTY edition). Never finished the Oblivion main quest, despite putting 100+ hours into the game, so Fallout 3 is the longest I've completed for now, perhaps tied with GTA4, which also took me around 30 hours to finish.

Um...I think Legend of Dragoon was the longest (over a hundred), to get to the final boss (fucker wouldn't die), and, depending on your definition of "complete", I've clocked probably over 1000 hours in Pokemon blue, but never once got all 150 Pokemon.
